I think it would make the game a whole lot better if there was a simple addition to the terrain painting. Adding the various path textures to the terrain paint makes a lot of sense to me, even though the paths and terrains are on different levels. But my main idea is having paths themselves be paint-able, but still connecting to buildings. This would only be an option for players in order to fix your current path bugs.
