Is there a better place than the FD store to see what the different paint jobs for ships look like? I find that the little, uniformly lit pictures in the storefront don't give much of an impression. Especially for the more nuanced and metallic paint jobs. I just don't know what I'm really looking at most of the time.

Just go to the outfitting. All paintjobs are there.
The only limitation is that you can only try painjob for the ship you're currently in.

You know that if you click the picture you get a big version.
Previewing in livery is better of course.
It's a bigger picture but it's still poorly lit. I'll check it out in the game, it never occurred to me to look there.
