Pan circle in Galaxy MAp

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the pan circle to show up in the galaxy map. My Hotas controls the movement of the camera just fine, but I never get the circle and arrows to select a system.

Help!?!

OK. I figured out i needed to turn the grid on in the galaxy map. However, now I need help knowing how to pan up and down in the SYSTEM map.

Odd isn't it, that it's the ones for Galaxy Map forward and backward, and yet it controls up/down in the system map? I'm sure it makes sense to someone in FD.

Cause the system map is a 2d plane rotated 90 so it faces you square, besides it makes more sense from a keybind and practicality to just use the same bindings.

Problem isn't in the keybinds or the naming of them, it's in the fact that the system map is sad excuse and a major cop out.
It's barely a graphical representation of a list.

I am aware, but it's non-intuitive for new players (and experienced ones for that matter).

A better way would have been to have separate bindings for the system map (would only need a few) but make them optional i.e. they are only active when they are different to the equivalent galaxy map bindings (a bit like the way the SRV bindings over the ship ones). That way it doesn't overwhelm new players but more experienced players have the option.

Disagree - how is a player supposed to know that "Galaxy Cam Translate Backward" is used for System Map translate down? After all there is no help text.

No disagreement there :)
