Panite?

so, I've logged in about 30 hours of mining. I've come across pretty much everything, mostly silver, gold, osmium, palladium, ect.... I have yet to find panite. Any suggestions?

I've been to a few, but all I find are mostly bauxite and other pointless minerals. I have tons of better luck at belt clusters. His name was the Nightrider, remember him when you look to the night sky.

You probably went to the wrong belts. The gas giants got multiple of them. You can tell by the rocks, they are brownish with a metallic tinge. The lowest quality ores they yield are gallite, indium, bertrandite. The high values are palladium, platinum, gold, silver, painite, osmium. If you get anything other than that, you're at the wrong belt. Look at the system map to orient yourself, the good belts will say metallic in the description.

This may sound an obvious thing, but are you sure it was pristine metalic? I ask only because for ages I never saw the ring quality on the system map. Eventually the light dawned on me and found it. Remember, since the type of things you find is essentially randomised, it is entirely possible for you not to find any. Sometimes I've found several 'roids in a row with a fair amount of it. Other times nothing for ages. Thems the breaks,kid, thems the breaks. :D

I over by Lembava. I usually go to a system about 6ly away called aganunu or something close to it. It has two ring planets that have pristine metallic reserves. The belt clusters in that system have plenty of goods, but the high intensity extraction zones around those planets just don't have what I thought they would. I earn more in ten minutes killing pirates then 40 minutes of mining. You're right, it's all random and about the breaks, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong

Painite (not panite) is the rarest gem on earth.... and apparently in the galaxy. But not impossible to find.
