Parades

One idea that has come to the fore since the last iteration of a good amusement park game, 10 years ago, are Parades.

As we have peeps who had dedicated pathing, so too for a parade, a dedicated route could be planned. Several real world parades go from one building to another, while others start and end in the same building doing a loop.

Elements for the parade (with a calculation that the element cannot be selected if the parade path becomes too narrow) can be purchased and set in a sequence. Floats, Entertainers who do dance routines, Entertainers who shake hands, bands, fancy cars. Electric light floats, some with an overall music theme, and some with specific to the element theme that overrides the overall music while focused on the float.

Different start times can be selected so you can keep track of when the parade will go, much like shows that Frontier developed when they gave us Fireworks in RCT3.

Programming for more than one show, so a day show and a night show, the night show perhaps having more electrical lights.

Peeps will know of these parades, and as in the real world, line the route, staff blocking off the route ahead of the parade. The higher the satisfaction with the parade, the more peeps that line the route, and then do so in rows two and three deep.

+1 !

I'd love to see a "Parade Tool" (That would be quite revolutionary for 2015) exactly as we had a "Fireworks Tool" in RCT3 (Which was quite revolutionary too for the times)

This would be a very interesting idea, especially with how the crowd moves and flows. I think it would be neat and fun at the same time to be able to do those, causing huge traffic issues as well unless the path is wide enough. It would make for a great challenge for sure.

I think this is an incredible idea, however, only if it was implemented well. If it wasn't done that well, I think it would just be mediocre.
I too thought of having it similar to the fireworks editor, allowing you to choose the route and people in the parade as you please. If this much depth was in the game, it would be absolutely stunning. It would be amazing, as you said, watching the people start lining the edges of the paths waiting for the parade to start. Very excited if this gets put in the game.

I really like the Disney parade that they did as part of the 20th anniversary stuff. Floats driving around and a massive light show. Parades for special occasions would be really cool.

Awesome Idea... Id love to chip in my 32 cents...
Parades that grow as your park gets bigger / better would be a great visual "celebration". Perhaps it happens every year/anniversary as a celebration and unlocking more content in game and what not would advance your progress until its like a Disney size parade down your midway (you would have to some how "zone" a midway).

I do really like that idea of them being special occasions. It would be cool to build them up and maybe start small when you don't have much in your park, and as the years go on, and your park continues to grow then you are able to build/have larger parades with floats and more. Maybe at first you just have a few mascots and some staff dressed up walking around then it grows during your 20 years of a park!?

When a child, in the sixties, and we were taken to Disneyland for the first time, they had the parade during the day. No night, electric light parades then. It was marching bands, old cars and a few perfomers. People lined up for that, and reserved seating on the curb of the street/think path for hours, longer than anyone waited for the longest rides. The reason was that there was more entertainment in that 20 minutes, and 2 hour wait, for a small child than any other thing in the park would have. And if you did not stake your claim to a spot, then your 4 year old could not see over the adults of the family that did get there 2 hours early.

I love this idea !!!

With the ability to make its own vehicles (We choose a base , and put objects on top) or download those made by the community/other players, could be AWESOME !!!

I go every two years to Disneyland Paris (to test the new attraction, and because I am a big fan), and even if I never had the opportunity to see one parade by night, I'm sure this must be fantastic.

But about the day parade, there are always people who line up for this in 2015, but the distance traveled by the parades is so long, that even if you arrive just at the beginning, you can easily find a place (I never had problems to view it, and usually I take it "on the fly")

After seeing the first dev blog and specifically the animation of peeps looking frustrated whilst they're stuck behind a crowd, implementation of parades could be a distraction for peeps whilst providing a bit of relief to queue times on rides. Like, without a parade, everything goes on as normal, with people waiting in queues, maybe getting annoyed at having to wait for such a long time if the ride is popular. THEN, you plan out and schedule a parade, and maybe some of those people move away from the queues, since they know the show is about to start.

On a personal level, I'd love to see parades in PC. Unless I'm trying to do something different and unusual, I generally build my parks in RCT3 with a Main Street style entrance area from the entrance gates to the center of the park. Having the option to get a parade going up and down there would get me one step closer to creating my virtual Disneyland-esque dream park, which is pretty much what I'm always trying to do.

This would be a great dlc idea. Parades and lightworks. Customized parades with unique path routes where the ai suggests routes based on foot traffic...and then lightworks like lasers or something similar to what Disneyworld does for its celebrate the magic show...light effects on buildings...this would require a night cycle...

Good idea I would make a dlc's or something else. Therefor it needs a different section especially for creating pathes, set rules, how many cars(downloadable)
It needs more time to build up a good parade than doit by the way playing

I love this idea - Never even thought about it myself before, not sure why. Maybe because It's a vintage thing to happen, but I love this if you could modernise it, so not only a floats and mascots, but drones doing shapes with lights, or a popup VR center with VR floats and ride demos etc

+1 Already posted a parade idea thread in another coaster game (I don't want to make ads :D) forum. I would love to see like parades make my guests happy :)

I would love to see parades and concerts in the game. I want a tool where you can chose who and what floats are in it. I want to be able to theme my park and parade for holidays like Christmas.

I too like the idea of parades. It could be something you can start as an option in the park (as opposite to the option that a parade happens automatically by the game itself).
It would probably be a lot of work to design this in the game. If it won't be in the initial game, perhaps parades are an idea for an add-on in the future?

Love this idea as well, thought about pathing and how they could incorporate it into like a rail that would imbed into the pathways then you could use the same track for trollies and the like when no parade was going on.
