Parasaurolophus gets angry too quickly

They get angry extremely quickly, the social bar is at almost 0 despite having 4 of them in the same enclosure. I was just wondering if anyone else had been experiencing this as well cause they broke out 4 times, more than my ceratosaurus lol.

Yep, this same thing happens to me with these restless dinosaurs. We hope that this is fixed since I have also seen some dinosaurs enter panic alone, or as my Archaeornithomimus that some of them (being in a room only they) begin to hunger and thirst until they die, having their feeders and lagoons to a side

I do not understand this, sometimes it is frustrating that they die having all their needs covered.

Parasaurolophus is my #1 dinosaur. I was quite surprised how hard it is to keep them happy. In the end I had to spec the hatchery to full speed to incubate them quickly enough. They're at their happiest in a herd of 9.

But yes. It's a tricky one. :)

Really.

I had a large enclosure with a ton of herds of the really finicky dinosaurs including tsintaosaurus, maiasaura, corythosaurus, etc. but I placed the feeders in a way that ensured they wouldn't wander too far away from one another. All of them were perfectly fine except the para. One broke out and wandered into a forested area where I couldn't click on it properly, so it killed quite a few people before I could feed it to my Rex.

I have found that both Parasaurulophus and Maiasaura need at least 5 members of their species to be happy. I also placed them both together in the same pen (My Hadrosaur paddock). As they seem to do well when kept together. But if you have only 5 of each species - be ready to hatch and release another one as soon as one dies (which happen quite often). As for the total population in their pens - both species are fine until you exceed 24 dinosaurs .

So you could have the following in a single pen -

- 6 Maiasaura
- 6 Parasaurolophus
- 3 Corythosaurus
- 3 Edmontosaurus
- 3 Struthiomimus

in a fairly modest size pen and be fine.

I try to keep my animals separated by era. There is one exception. I have to have a large enclosure with three Brachiosaurus and about a dozen Parasaurolophus to recreate That Scene from Jurassic Park. It's beautiful, and they are (mostly) happy critters.

Come on guys, this is a feature, it add diffiulty yes, but they are social animals, you first need to know what they want then breed them consequently
this does not need to be fixed [up]

This does not need fixing - paras, maias and tsintao all need pretty big social groups, once I got them well above the minimum they were really happy and never broke out.

These threads are funny - half say the game is too easy, the rest say it's impossible :)

Maia’s, Para’s, and Tsint’s are honestly more temperamental than raptors. I made the mistake of attempting an enclosure of all 3 together on Tacaño. Ending up feeding the Maia’s to the Gigas lol
You have to be on top of their comfort and well prepared should one die if you want to keep them in their paddock.

I found four is the minimum that they are happy with but I do mix them in with other hadrosaurs so maybe that helps. The Muttaburrasaurus I found needed seven of its kind while Edmontosaurus only needed three.

Watch them carefully. Panicing is not a bug, it's a feature a lot people don't seem to understand.
Dinos can panic when they see a threat (=predator) but fences don't break their line of sight. If you keep a trex next to your small herbivor area you shouldn't wonder that they panic. (Additionally i'm more or less sure that they even have a line of hearing and not only sight)
They can also panic from rangers sometimes and they panic a lot from both helicopters.

While in panic they (suprise) run around in panic and ignore all needs. Dinos panicing too often = death because of starvation.
Additionally only one dino at a time can eat from a food source. If you keep 20 in an area and have one feeder they will likely starve too

Nah they can be three at once, maybe four.

Only 6 are enough for the muttaburrasaurus, but yeah with the stegosaurus, those two are the more sociable
check this out (not mine)

Yeah, I don't like what I am hearing about the Parasaurolophus. I wanted to make an enclosure full of sauropods and Hadrosaurs, specifically the Paras. It's a shame they are such a pain to keep.

I've had zero issues with Paras, or any other hadrosaur, just keep a nice big social group and a good area to run around and they cause no trouble at all. There's really nothing to fix here, part of the challenge is to find what works for each species. Here's picture of one of my hadrosaur exhibits, this paddock has 6 Parasuarolophus, 8 Muttaburrasaurus, and 6 Tsingtaosaurus, for a grand total of 20, right at the max population for Muttaburrasaurus. But I also make my exhibits far larger than needed just because I think it looks nicer so that may help also.

Can the Gyroball rides we put in the enclosures cause panic like having rangers drive thru there? I ask because I had several dinos miles from the carnivore enclosure refuse to eat or drink and nearly killed themselves. This was after putting that ride in.

I have never had anything like this, in Matanceros I have two gyrosphere rides, one in an enclosure with 3 Syracosaurus, 7 Parasaurolophus and 4 Gallimimus and none stop eating or never entered the panic. I have the other ride in an enclosure of Majungasaurus and these have not done anything strange to the presence of the gyrosphere

I was sooo thrilled to create my first Parasauro!! By far one of my favorite dino of all time. But when the time came, I couldn't create enough of them and one after the other, they broke out and kept me on the chase for a while. The transport ACU couldn't keep up. Now I just have a creation centre attached to my hadrosaur enclosure and mass produce them until they're happy. But I hated them for a few hours for sure.

Just tranq the first few released until more are ready ;)
