Park Size Variations + Purchasing Land

One thing that I hope to see added in Planet Coaster is variations to the size and shape of parks, and the ability to buy new land. The first time I played RCT1 I thought it was so amazing when I realized the pond outside of my park could be purchased!

In RCT1 and RCT2 the park sizes all came in unique shapes, in RCT3 and PC the parks all come in one size (a large square) and PC does not offer land purchasing. I know land purchasing seems like a small feature, but I really miss oddly shaped, unique designs, of the smaller parks in Classic RCT. It gives the game a more "puzzle-like" feel when you have a tiny park that you must make full use out of. That is one thing missing from PC that I really wish we had, because most of the scenarios in PC feel like they are too big and wide open giving very little originality to them.

I also really hope to see a scenario editor someday! and I think that allowing us to modify park property would be an important feature for a scenario editor. There are many "recreation" parks of Classic RCT scenarios that already exist on the workshop, and it would be so amazing if players could add objectives to them to feel more like the actual scenarios. I played scenarios a lot in RCT1 and RCT2 but the scenarios in RCT3 and PC just seem to lack a little bit of creativity when it comes to park layout, and design.

I would like to see this as well. Makes everything look a bit more natural. At least the maps don't have a fence around the border like RCT3 tho.

This could go very well together with already populated (with terrain features and foliage) maps for a proper career mode. You have to remove trees and do some terrain work before you can place a ride.

I agree. I too miss the days when the outside of your park added to the atmosphere of the map. Bumbly Beach is always one of my favorites. I also miss how you could be on an island in RCT3, or have one side of the map look like a Beach. I love the Oak Island scenario but it feels like it feels like it's supposed to be at a beach, but it ends up feeling like it's just in the middle of a lake in the woods.

+1. Really, PC is cool, but it needs to get back to the roots (to the RCT 1-2 era) and bring some strategy in. I also think the plot should be surrounded by fence or something....
