Parking Lots / Park Entrances

Hoping this wasn't posted before (tried doing a search and couldn't find anything) BUT while playing the alpha, I noticed people just kinda come out of a tunnel to enter your park. I'd like to see a more realistic approach, like when you go to any park. You'll have massive parking lots with trams that bring you to the front gate, and of course the entrances are always grand and welcoming with ticket booths and what not. Not too many Park Sims go that route, but I think it's a small detail that would bring a whole new level of realism to PC :)

Yeah, the tunnel idea is certainly interesting, but I'm not too keen on it either, would prefer something a bit more realistic.

I agree, I believe we are able to design our own entrances when the game is fully released. which would be really cool since you could have a path way and then also have some sort of tram/bus that takes others who don't want to walk right to the front gate.

I like the idea of parking lots, but it could be a lot of work and heavy on our computers for something that has very little effect on the game. But as an option for those who want it, I can see it being kind of cool [up]

i think the game will concentrate fully on the park itself for now. but i admit it would be lot of fun to deal with the ways to reach the park, the parking of course, but also things like paying the region to build a metroline to the park or why not getting a train station built.

it would all go well with this ideas i saw of resorts and shopping village.

It seems very good idea, certainly developers do because if it is not very kind RCT3 and would not be the idea [ugh]

Having a parking lot/front gate plaza system would really add a punch of realism to the game in the future of Planet Coaster. If they did incorporate that into the game it would be great if we could go into Sandbox mode and set park land and outer-gate land properties. That way guests in the park would be intelligent to understand where the actual park itself exists, but still functioned with the front gate plaza and parking area... if that makes sense?

We could create a roadway that led into the park's parking area with parking tolls that also counted towards profit for the park. We could customize "Welcome" billboards, and design different types of parking areas- regular ticket holders had to park in parking section B-Z, while Seasonal Pass Holders had access to the Fast Lanes at the parking toll, and parking section A, while buses had their own lanes to access the bus parking section.

Depending on how large we could customize the parking areas we could also design tram routes that stopped at each parking section and front-gate drop-offs and pick-ups. Also, if at any point in the distant future of Planet Coaster and we received Resorts in a DLC/Expansion they also gave us the ability to create bus/trolley stops that traveled between resorts, shopping districts and the actual park(s) themselves. It not only would increase profit for the park as a whole, but increase popularity for our parks over time.

As long as it wouldn't affect gameplay. Would hate to see performance drop with a busy park just because our computers had to render an unused parking lot.

I don't think people realize how much fun this would be!!

This also fits in nicely with managing the crowds inside the park. Theme park sims should be all about attracting and managing crowds with big roller coasters, attractions, variety and cleanliness being the biggest draws. Your crowd can only grow as big as your attraction portfolio, path system and parking lot can handle. If your lot is full guests are turned away! If you lot is trashed guests enter mad. People argue for and against parking lots but I consider it to be a "must have" feature.
