Partial assist-off mode

Simple suggestion, I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one to submit it :
provide an intermediate level of assist-off mode :
- rotational inertia is stabilized (the ship stop turning alone once stick at neutral) - as assist-on mode
- displacement inertia is kept (the ship continue his displacement, any change of displacement, including slowing down, require thruster) - as assist-off mode

This would provide a much more user friendly assist-off mode, while keeping a specific touch for assist-off masters.

(while I'm thinking about this change since I know ED, trying SC [uncoupled mode] make me realize it seems obvious for everyone, not only me ...)

Nope, just take time to learn the assist-off mode. is not that hard
That just seen like a half-ass way to get things done easier by fruition of lazyness

Ages ago Sandy (or Mike) said this was not on the table as it would simply be the de facto way to fly. The current model gives different options to players.

I'm with the OP here.
A third mid-way mode would be ideal, especially for those who've played FE2 and FFE.

Full FA-off would be advantageous for HOTAS players. Keyboard/Mice players would find it a bit of a hassle to stabilize the ship, though with practice it still becomes manageable in time.
Partial FA (self centering rotation/manual displacement) would be a nice middle ground for everyone.

As always, it's good to have more choices. If you don't like it, don't use it.

The point of the current FA Off mechanism is to provide the flexibility to perform maneuvers that wouldn't otherwise be possible, but at the cost of harder controls. It's mostly a balancing concern.

Damn, why does people always think they have to make a personal attack ?
Is this thread about me ?
Am I talking about my own difficulties ?
Seriously ...
I guess people are so selfish they cant even understand we all do not think the same way.

If I get it right, this mode will never exist otherwise everyone would use it ? So lets not making it ?
Seems logical.
(... oh, wait !)

You are 2/2 for missed points. Good job.

1) Do learn FAOff. It's there because it extends the skill ceiling, and ED likes to think it cares about skill.
2) If everyone will choose one thing over another, then there isn't really a choice is there?
