Horizons Passenger Missions to Ice Geysers and other planetary features

I'm sorry if this was posted before, couldn't find it.

When I get a passenger mission to go somewhere and visit Ice Geysers and other planetary features, all that's there is the same stupid beacon. If I come all the way to the surface couldn't they have put some interesting animated object there to look at? Every time this happens, I feel like I'm playing an old text only adventure game that gives you a "You Found It!" message after you finally complete the quest. I feel so ripped off! What a disappointment.

Come on Frontier...

YOU ARE STANDING AT THE END OF A ROAD BEFORE A SMALL BRICK BUILDING. AROUND YOU IS A FOREST. A SMALL STREAM FLOWS OUT OF THE BUILDING AND DOWN A GULLY.

...

YOU ARE IN A MAZE OF TWISTY LITTLE PASSAGES, ALL ALIKE

...

Are you completely serious?! What part of Ice Geyser did you miss in the description of the destination? Of course there are animated objects to look at. If you even bothered to think ahead you'd bring an SRV, then you can explore the area for a bit, your passengers won't mind the delay. There are high grade mats to collect, there is endless (smallprint: not endless) fun to be had getting yourself over a vent and getting boosted hundreds of meters vertically.

Sounds like you got as far as in-range of the beacon, scanned and scooted. Disappointing.

Are you messing with me? The first couple times I came down nose to nose with the beacon and then skimmed the surface looking for anything unusual, found nothing but empty surface features common to all moons. You actually found something that matched the beacon description somewhere?

Yes. Visited vents, geysers, spouts, etc, on no less than 28 occasions so far. Documented what mats are available at each one. And thats just my personal records.

You might want to checkout https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...Fumarole-Location-Catalog-and-Data-Collection where the efforts to find ways to discover and record the undocumented non-beacon sites are discussed. It's quite the 'sport' ;)

Volcanic activity can usually be spotted at up to 5km away. There may be the odd bugged location, I've had one, but normally there's something to see and interact with everytime.

So that's what happened to The Beacon !

You'd think FD could put more beacons in the game so we can visit other places of interest. [mad]

Oh! Your that guy. I went to your site, but it didn't work for me. I clicked on the "View Sites" button and the top half changed to "Site Info", but there was no info, it was dark grey blank. If you click the "Site Info" button, nothing really happens. Is there a secret to this?

I’m not ‘that guy’. It’s not my site, though I believe it may be undergoing some maintenance. Have a look on Canonn too.

To tell the truth some of those beacons are a bit strange, they hang out in space and the location is on the surface of the planet. I went to a beacon that had no information on where to find the actual site as well, I found it myself by flying down and doing a search but then I am used to that sort of thing. Maybe they don't give the information unless you have a mission there? Maybe some are just broken?

I usually arive @ night time on these moons...and @ first i just moved on, then i went to youtube and this forum...wrote up some moons/systems and revisited them later WITH an SRV.
