Passenger missions

Thinking of having a go at running some passenger missions. After some suggestions as to which class of cabins is best to go for. Also some ship suggestions, I don't have access to the cutter or any fed ships

just take some extra fuel with you, and a docking computher comes in handy at night on planets.
Be carefull on what you take, read the whole page as if it is your will...hidden things are "passengers may be wanted...." or "secretive" ect just leave them, you will get better ones with nothing bad or hidden...take the ones that outrank you, so you get higher ranks faster. Go to eddb to see how far the station/planet is from the sun and don't take missions from these far away places so you have to return there...or if you just like these distances, just go for it then.
Some ships go fast in systems, others go slower...find out witch ship is faster, python, dolphin are fast ones and ohh take a meduim sized far ease
Have fun.

A type 6 with eco cabins works till you get enough cash for a python.

That is the route i followed also.

I have to agree the T6 does make a good passenger ship, I put a business class and economy on the two c5 modules. You may want to add a fuel scoop and ADS if you plan taking tourist to several different locations, some locations you won't have the navigation data for them.

Disclaimer: I've not tried the T6 option suggested above. However you can get a couple of 4D busisness class cabins in a Cobra III (which as you know, is like the BEST ship) ;)

I've made quite a bit of cash with this...

Be sure to include a small cargo rack because some of the demanding passengers want stuff like food or clothing "to make the trip more pleasant" or what ever they say. You can ignore their requests but it might give you a negative hit on your rep. If I get a message about wanting something I just source it, buy a unit of it and everyone is happy.

Most passenger missions are for no more than 16 passengers per group, which is the capacity of a size 6 Business Class cabin or a size 5 Economy Class. I'd recommend Economy for most cabins smaller than 6, but make sure you have at least one better cabin for higher-class passengers.

My Python has three C6 Business, two C5 Economy, and one C4 Economy. That leaves two C3's for a shield and FSD Booster, and a DC in the smallest slot. That's for short runs where everyone is going to the same destination.

For longer runs to multiple destinations, I usually use my Beluga, I'm still adjusting the layout for that (the removal of the slot restrictions will help somewhat). Then I use the galmap to pick the order of destinations based on distance and direction.

I never take criminals on the Beluga (except by accident...), but I have a stealth-build DBX with a C4 Business cabin for those.

The way to make your hundreds of millions in a short amount of time these days with passenger missions is by using a Python for stations where you can only use a medium-hull ship, then an Anaconda when you can afford one and want to run out of a station that has large pads. But, right now, I there's still good money to be made is out of outposts, so you don't really need the Annie.

You don't need to outfit an expensive ship. Just biz-class passenger cabins (although you can make almost as much with economy ones) and an engineered FSD if you're running sight-seeing missions (which is where I find the money is, when you find a system that offers lots of the same destination and it's only 2-3 jumps away). You don't need any other engineering, and you don't need any upgraded modules (although if you're going to fly in open, you'll want to begin building your defensive/survival modules when you can afford it).

The most important thing is to find a system that'll still be good for you when the mission board update goes in (or has it already?). Because you won't make good money until you're allied (which is why it's important to find a lucrative system and make it your home), and you don't want to have to rely on board swapping to fill your cabins.
