passenger payouts

What would be the reason for me to take on a 20- 40 million dollar passenger mission that is 21000lys away and takes 700 jumps one way and can take days and days, one way, when i can get the same payout in an hour going 9 lyrs with multiple paying customers?
I've done exploring and i've travelled to there and back, but i cant wrap my head around doing it with a passenger.( maybe that's why i find it hard)
I'm at colonia and am dreading the trip back to the bubble.

Well...if you are thinking of going to Colonia, why wouldn’t you equip a passenger cabin or two and make some decent credits while you are at it.

Otherwise, you are correct, easier to truck human cattle within the bubble for more credits and a lot less jumps.

Because you can stack them if you're going to Colonia. And it is a way to make money if you are going to Colonia anyway. If it's not Colonia (a scientific destination for example), you can get exploration data on the way there and back, and unlock Palin at the same time.

If your goal is just to make money, you will make a lot more with less risk by doing very short range missions in the bubble. Bonus: you will grind a lot of rank at the same time. In the time it would take to do a round trip to Colonia, I could very easily make 300 million+ doing passenger missions as a casual gamer, and it'll be far less boring.

Yeah, that's why I've never gone to Colonia. There's no real reason to go to Colonia unless you just like exploration. All the good stuff is in the bubble.

Actually i hit colonia after doing exploring on an outer arm.i actually arrived here from a weird loop that started staright across to the left on the map, up, then over and finally towards colonia. Haven't been in the bubble for about a year.
The passenger runs here are towards the bubble and back. but there are short hop ones also.
If there was a run that was a dropoff that would make sense, if you going that way anyway.

The view in Colonia region is unmatched in or around Sol.

They should have one way passenger missions to Colonia. No one in their right mind would do a round trip there just for the money. FD seems to think the 100m you could make stacking missions (maybe more, let's say 200m) is somehow relatively a lot of money, but the way that cash cows have wondered into the game, within arms' reach of starter systems, there's simply no attraction to these stale carrots on 22,000 LY long sticks. The interesting thing is that it will cost you a billion credits to transfer a large ship there but you only make 20% of that at most doing the round trip with demanding passengers.

I think it affects your jump range. I don't want to take an extra 75 jumps just to make 100m Cr.

You know you can board flip right? So, lets say you take a 5kly mission. Board flip till you get your other cabins full of passengers going to the same place.

Now, you will have several missions paying you 10 or 15m each. Plus the discovery data and exploration rank.

Im gonna make around 220m, an xbox achievement, and about half a rank for one trip to Colonia. And I only took 3 passenger missions. If I had filled my ship Id be making closer to 400m.

Also, theres a lot of pretty scenery on the way.

Know the exploit, like the board flip name, that what they call mission stacking now? Pretty sure a lot of people here remember the robigo run. THAT was a mission stacking mega credit grab if there ever was one.A lot of people learned how to enter a station at full speed on that one.
I don't get how running to the same star system over and over with passengers ups your exploration ranking, seems like a bug. You not actually exploring anything.
I cant rescan a system for data.
As for the exploring read my posts.
