Newcomer / Intro Passenger wants to go to planet

So I've picked up my second passenger mission, seemed routine, rich jerk wanted to visit a bunch of systems, I'm trying to boost rank and it came with a pretty payday.

Jumped into the first system and was told to go to a planet, i'm in orbit of the planet Caleta 4, cant land as it has an atmosphere and I've been to the nearby visitor beacon but the mission wont update.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

figured it out i'm an idiot, needed to scan the beacon

Don't worry I made a similar mistake on my first pax mission. Except I just sat there looking at the beacon wondering why the mission didn't update. Had to call on Google Fu to realise it needed a scan to complete.

If in doubt scan it.

If not in doubt scan it anyway.

Unrelated scanning note.
The ships data scanner like the SRVs needs a fire group assigning and only works at less than 200 metres from the target, so don't let them mount it in the cockpit of your Anaconda or it won't have the range to scan anything not on board.
