Horizons Passengers annoying change Destination

Is anyone else finding that passenger missions are completely out of control with every other transport they want to go somewhere else from the original destination. Commodity delivery missions don't do this so why do sooooo many passenger ones do it? Are all the passengers idiots who have no idea where they left their ships? When I get in a taxi I don't think I have ever changed the destination, do all the ED devs have the navigation capacity of Dori and this is why they think every passenger in the game is looking for Nemo?

It has been fixed in 2.3, every detour will become optional.

Commodity delivery missions don't do this

They do change destinations also. I landed in a station and was handing in mission when three mission suddenly redirected to another location. Also you will notice that the mission will redirect at bad times.

A. you arrive at the station and receive a email saying to go somewhere else.
B. you take off from a station and start leaving for next destination. Email arrives telling you to delivery to station you just left. ( program waits until you have taking off. Not while sitting in station)
 
if you get a mission update message, just don't look at it, if you don't see it, you don't have to be diverted :)

i have had to turn off the audio for inbox messages and mission alerts (or wording to that extent) to stop the instant mission fails so only get the quick visual notifications which i simply ignore.

Edit: For Your Information - you'll still get the bonuses for quicker deliveries even if you don't look at the update (have personally tested it)

It will...

Nothing worse than being half way into a 57,000 ls trip to find out the one of your 2 missions to that starport has redirected to another system with 102,000 ls trip... Right as you were getting ready to log off for the night...
 
In keeping with the underlying theme the developers have created in this game, i.e. make everyone a killer, I don't understand why they didn't provide the option of throwing complaining passengers out the airlock and then getting extra points for burning their corpses with a laser. [rolleyes]
 
In addition to the reroute annoyance, it appears you don't actually get paid the promised bonus for the diversion :(

If the forced reroute is fixed in 2.3, can someone confirm whether the bonus payment is fixed or not in 2.3 beta?

I'll be honest, I just go to the original destination, I never read the updates on the top panel so it never marks the new destination. I'm just too lazy to be bothered by it.

Yep, that does work. But for missions it does not and that's the DEV's gotcha's. I already had 3 mission's reroute to another station as I enter the mail slot (GOTCHA).
It takes away from the experience. Also any logical route planning by the commander. Fix is abandon mission and carry on. Seems that 2.3 will let you select.
