I've been doing a lot of passenger missions, lately. I really enjoy them. They take you nice places.
Although I would like to propose a small change to how the happiness system works. With the recent change that made passengers less demanding, so to speak (they no longer require things and change their minds about destination all the time, but usually only once during the mission), the missions may have become less annoying and time-demanding, but they also became harder, as there is virtually no chance of increasing passenger's happiness unless they make a demand. (which they usually won't). That, combined with the fact that in case of an accident or unlucky scan the happiness level skips all the right to "Unhappy", makes things kind of awkward. It's basically a "One strike and out".
So my suggestion would be - let every successfully reached mission "checkpoint" (tourist beacon, etc.) raise the happiness by a little bit to let us make up for our clumsiness. Alternatively, make the happiness drop less severe for smaller mishaps like a few percent hull damage (We're talking Belugas here, mainly, where a small wing clip into the grill means shields down and 10% of the hull gone). That way, one single slip wouldn't mean endangered or downright doomed mission. It's not an issue with transports and short sight-seeing trips, but those long hauls would feel much more comfortable.
And as a side note - There are still WAY too many wanted passengers. My estimate would be 80% of all the missions. It's understandable with refugee transports and such, but tourists and scientists? Don't tell me only criminals go sight-seeing in Elite.
Thanks for listening. o7
