Newcomer / Intro Passengers: how to give them their stuff, and how to track my history with them?

You need cargo racks. Just buy whatever cargo they want and they say 'thanks, now lets continue to our destination'. When you deliver then to the destination, they leave with the cargo. Usually more trouble than it's worth. My approach is to have a fast ship with a lot of jump range, so I can often be done with the mission before they ask anything. Also it's safe to ignore them once. If they want to talk to the manager, well I am the manager.

Scanned by ship, scanned by station, same result. Wanted passengers are more trouble than what they are generally worth, unless you like your danger this way! If you are confident to boost through the toast rack before the patrols scan you or the station does, then ensure you have upped your shields incase you hit any structure on the way in. Remember to hit retro thrust or you'll miss your pad and may pancake at the end bulkhead!. Be carefull if it is a busy station, and damage or destruction to other ships will result in you gaining a bounty or detention...

If you are in free sapce in supervruise and you get scanned & pulled, then just boost, boost and boost some more and power up that supercruise.
Wow, yeah, WAY more trouble than it's worth!
I AM kinda curious about it, though... part of me wants to role-play a commander that is on the dark side of the law and makes it his goal to help out other wanted folk.... interesting...
But yeah, not something I'm at all going to bother with while I'm trying to just make a legit coin :)
Thanks for the feedback!

The other thing I've noticed about "Wanted" passengers. The mission description says that "they may be Wanted in some systems", which kind of implies randomness, and that they probably won't be Wanted unless you're unlucky. This is misleading. It should read "they WILL be Wanted in EVERY SINGLE non-Anarchy system, INCLUDING the systems owned by the same faction the passenger belongs to". I haven't taken many Wanted passengers - it's always been by accident - but this has been my experience.

As was mentioned the way to deal with this is not to get in a shootout with them but win the interdiction, depending on your ship could be easy, or out run them again a well chosen chip with the right engines should do this easily.

Well, I've been able to boost and run away from every npc pirate that's interdicted me in my Dolphin. Dunno how I'd fare against Auth ships. But even so, I'd really hate to make myself wanted just from being scanned with a wanted passenger :/
