Passengers to Colonia?

Anyone have any suggestions of where in the bubble I might find some passengers willing to pay big credits for transportation to Colonia?

I haven’t played for the past 6 months or so, just logged in this weekend and working on getting Guardian FSD Booster. I’ve just finished that and I think I’d like to go on a long journey, preferably to Colonia for the first time. I would prefer to take some passengers along to earn more credits than just exploration data. But I don’t want to worry about being scanned and failing the transport mission. I used to only find researchers and such who wanted to be taken out far away (like >20,000 LYs) to look at something and be brought back to the starting port WITHOUT being scanned.

Speaking of angering passengers by being scanned... i’ve Always wondered what percentage of the payout is lost for each scan ( is it all or nothing?)?

Seen Colonia-bound passengers in Quince, but it's been a while. Months, really.

Scan scaredy-cats? It depends. I've had them stick around (barely) after two completed scans; I've also had them eject after one attempt. The passenger conditions list gives broad hints as to their touchiness, eg. slightly reduced satisfaction, greatly reduced, dramatically reduced. And it's all or nothing; they either pay in full or not at all.

If you haven't played for months, you may or may not know that board-flipping is basically gone. Dedicated mission servers have all but snuffed it out.

Thanks Borko, I didn’t realize board flipping was gone. Does that mean missions provide enough passengers to fill a large ship with lots of cabins now to the same destination? Such a waste of a big ship to fly 8 people somewhere. That’s why I always board flipped, to fill my ship with passengers to same destination. Otherwise, why not just use a tiny ship.

Wish I could tell you for sure. The change happened a month or two back; I haven't tried to fill the cutter with meatsacks since.

On the outskirts of the bubble you'll find them all over the place. Inside the bubble I usually find them at tourist economy stations the most. The higher your rep with the factions the more will be on offer. Am on my way to work right now but I'll post a definite station tonight when I get home for you.

Are you sure? I thought the change wd come with 3.3. As of last Saturday, flipping worked perfectly for me...fully stacking supply missions was no problem at all ☝🏻

One-way passenger missions to Colonia (and other nearby systems) can be found in Tourism economies. Not every faction offers them all the time, but if you hop past a few Tourism stations on your way out of the bubble you should be able to fill your cabins pretty quickly.

If you run out of cabin space but still have mission slots free, they also do data courier missions.

I can confirm, in my experience, check Tourism economies. There are sometimes factions offering many (or even all) of their Passenger Missions to the Colonia area.

OP you may want to read this https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/458417-Mission-Progress-Wipe-at-3-3-Launch

When 3.3 drops all missions are to be wiped so don't take too long to get there. And of course we don't yet know when 3.3 is going live

Yeesh that would’ve been awful if it wiped while I was out, so thank you for letting me know and linking that!

And thanks to the rest for the tips. I’ll wait until after the update to look for tourist stations.

You can get long range passenger missions in high population tourist economies.

I use D'arrest ring in HIP 5623 out near cubeo. stack up with courier missions at 2m a pop they pay out more than a single passenger mission.
Note that tourists tend to be return journeys. I have yet to find a reliable source of long range one way passenger missions to colonia.

Go to the Gerst Ring in the BD+22 3579 system and check the passenger lounge there. Last time I was there they had a bunch of passenger missions going to Colonia and then check the mission board as well because they had a bunch of data delivery missions heading the same way. If I was ready to make the trip out there that is where I'd go and load up my passenger cabins and stack as many data missions as I could feasibly run. It looked like you could make many millions of credits doing that. No idea about the return trip back to the Bubble.

Are you POSITIVE that there are one-way passenger missions to Colonia? I am almost certain that no such missions exist. They are all round-trip, aren't they?

I suspect the missions are all round-trip (tourism).
Two weeks ago filled 4 cabins (4 different missions) to nearby Sag A* and Colonia, for a total of 160M credits, plus my honks which gave me another 45M in credits.
Picked the tourists in Robigo, since I was already there doing Robigo-Sothis.

Helped me get my Elite in Exploration.

I have not personally been able to verify this since the last time I was in the bubble (in 3.0) but then - at the Tourism economies only - there were definitely one-way passenger missions (both bulk and VIP).

Round-trip missions to see the tourist beacons can be obtained from anywhere, of course.

I have been contemplating doing these long range missions for a while. About how long did it take you?

That's news to me. I'll be heading to Colonia sometime after 3.3 hits - hopefully these missions will still exist at that point.

I've seen both one way and round trip long range passenger missions at tourism economies.
Other economies, especially in boom state tend to offer sightseeing missions.

Didn't manage to get on the other night but you can definitely get one way trip missions to Colonia from CD-33 8748. Coalition of Paitina offers them very frequently.
