I'm trying to create a park with different themed areas. What styles of path looks best with, say, mythological theme? With western, pool areas, viking ,?

There is not one this all comes down to personal preference. If you want like realistic then every thing in parks like 6 flags is all concrete and asphalt. For heavily themed parks like universal or Disney then they will some times paint the concrete to look like rocks or use tiles or coble stone. Other then that if your depicting real life. Then all those themes would be Dirt or gravel roads as the time zone of these themes. The technology for building roads was not wide spread and so roads where just dirt trails. All this can be sorted out with a google search of these themed topics or by looking at actual parks with google earth.
