Pathfinder -> Ranger?

I read some conflicting info about how much you need to earn exploring to become a Ranger, I've just passed 14 million. Could anybody confirm the amount? Maybe there's a delay?

Cheers.

I was also expecting Ranger at 12m and it didn't come until 15m for me, higher in the 15mills.
Latest patch.

You'll have it soon, I'm sure!

Cheers

Perhaps it's # of systems scanned as opposed to credits?
I suspect it is a base earnings value modified by numbers of first discoveries and unique detail scans.
But only FD know, and they are not telling.

Like all the ranks, just keep enjoying playing the game and they will appear when the conditions are met.
It's actually more fun when it's a surprise and not an expectation.

Rank rollover takes a bit, give it time. Had to wait about an hour to get my latest trading rank.

This, too. I'd forgotten that. Last trip out when I got back I cashed in a bunch, saw that my rank hadn't changed (Mostly Aimless at the time). Logged off since it was late. When I logged in the next day my rank was Pathfinder.

I'm at 13 million and Pathfinder also. Expected a rollover at 12 million. Not worrying though. With Elite requiring more than 100 million credits more and lot's of unexplored regions to go to, I'll just keep 'splorin' away.

50 mil and still ranger.
over 4500 L2
350 L3

L3?!!!

Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. I thought L3 was in reserve for when planet landings became possible. Am I missing some kit? Off the top of my head, I have the default scanner, the advanced one that picks up everything in the system - and the detailed surface scanner. I don't believe I have any L3 scans in my stats. :-/

L3 scans are those done with the DSS.
The concensus is that you do get the correct credit for those that you do, but they are displayed incorrectly in your stats.

I ranked up to Ranger around 10M Cr back in February (prior to 1.2).
Assuming ranking requirements doubled along with earnings, I'd guess Ranger comes in around about 20M Cr now. Slightly less if you were already well on your way to the rank in Pathfinder.

I know it is easy to blame an anomaly on a bug but ... A friend and I went North and collected about the same amount of credits in exploration data. He is a Ranger and I am a Pathfinder. The only difference is that he has several hundred L3 detailed scans on his stats page whereas I have none. We shared the detailed surface scanning, often splitting a system in to two.

any ideas? And does this tip the balance and answer the OP's question?
