Pattern Epsilon = RNG?

So I have collected all of the guardian mats I need for all the new modules except for these darn pattern Epsilon obelisk datas. They seem to be te rarest of the bunch. After 8 hours of scanning I have between 50-100 of Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Gamma. Only 9 Epsilon...
Is this pure RNG or am I doing something wrong?

Yes it is rng and I too needed some time to get enough of them. If you are on the new guardian sites it probably takes a bit longer since there are not that many obelisk, ancient ruins have a lot more obelisk so you can usually get more there.

Update - I found that by parking next to an obelisk, scanning, logging off, logging in, scanning, repeat; that I can get a scan about every 30 seconds. Much faster than driving all over the guardian sites. So in the last hour I've done roughly 120 scans. Not a single pattern epsilon... not one. I even tried changing which obelisk I was scanning a few times in case certain ones only gave specific data. I guess on the bright side I will never need to come back for A, B, D, G should they ever have a use. Quality gameplay here. Back to Monster Hunter World for me. [rolleyes]
