Since the 2018 paid DLC will be atmospheric planets ( :D ), it's a good marketing move to announce it both in Europe (Gamescon) and PAX (USA) in a short window of time (1 week).

Oh..and I can't wait to see the space legs trailers that you'll introduce in 2019 Q1.

You'll then reach a lot of CMDRs on both continent and create a huge hype train that will bring us through atmospheric planets, chapter 4 & space legs.

Well done Fdev ;)

create a huge hype train

I think that's probably something best avoided. A failure to manage expectations created an awful lot of problems for the NMS devs.

But in an information vacuum, speculation runs wild. There needs to be some information, and the hype needs to be managed. This is not an easy task, and just saying nothing is avoiding the problem rather than managing it imo.

Well in that case HG didn't manage anything. They simply lied to their customers by announcing features that were not even in the game at launch.

Big difference with announcing content coming soon in ED with some trailers at a game show...and create some hype (which is good) :)

*Edit: And on that point I think that FDev have always been carefull with their annoucements. Not saying / showing too much before release.

Just wanted to say - thanks to Will & Frontier for a great evening!

(Sorry we didn't get to chat, you were clearly super busy and you could only get round so many folks!)

I had a great time and it was good to meet some new faces. Hope you enjoy Seattle - it's a lovely city, but I suspect you guys are going to be busy over the next few days

Fly safe - o7

Just got home. Much fun was had. Good to see the Hutton crew again. Thanks for doing this FD! Here's a couple pictures I took at the space needle, my hotel was within walking distance.

If anybody who attended wrote their Cmdr name down on a piece of paper for me has a name similar to "raw 7765" or "yabua", you are the 2 people I can't figure out in friend search. PM me your corrected Cmdr name and I'll add you. I guess I should have had people write at the start of the evening instead of the end!:D BTW, I'm Cmdr Jaxxo in game, not Cmdr Spacecat (that would be silly).

Oh, hey, FD, thanks for the unique PAX West paint jobs! That was an unexpected surprise (I don't think we got any last year). That was a nice bonus for going.:D
