Paying real $ for OFFICIAL ships in Elite: Dangerous

I'm mostly focused on X Plane 11 at the moment, and what I appreciate is the ability to buy creations that others have spent hours on, like this one which I just bought: https://www.x-hangar.com/store/lockheed-c-130h-hercules.html

I'm not suggesting that there should be paywall-blocked ships in Elite: Dangerous, but...if FD were to sell player-created versions of in-game ships, that would be some interesting.

You will never be able to pay real money to buy in-game ships (FDev have made it very clear they do not want a pay to win scenario), but it would be nice to be able to buy ship models through the store.

The ship kits that one could build put on the shelf, yes. That would be awesome (though my shelves are kind of crowded by other sci-fi stuff of last 30 years, already)

In-game ships, a definitive no. That would be kind of a red light for me, to be honest.

It's not really buying the ship that's the issue.

It's the incentive for FD to nerf the entire economy to make buying ships with real money for attractive.

Because Elite is a sandbox. Earning money and buying bigger ships is the only way to progress through the game. The only measurable sense of "achievement". If you made the only essential gameplay feature accessible via credit card, you're defeating the whole meaning of playing Elite.

Guys he wrote "player created" as a 3d party dev team created ships as I understand - just like addons for FSX/X-plane/DCS flight sims. A ships made not by FD but by 3d party fan dev teams - its not like buying Cutter. I`m way to incompetent to write how would this could possibly work but... he is not asking for what you think he is aka pay to buy a official in game ships.

There are Players who, with very little finances and plenty of time, have managed to build up a fleet of ships purely through their own efforts. They have learned to fly and use them. If somebody just threw a lot of money into the game and built a fleet of warships just to PvP these Players it would spoil their enjoyment.

I have been playing this Game for nearly three years now. I have paid for a few extras (paint schemes, LEP), but I know that any other Player I encounter within the Game has, through their own effort within the Game, earned the ship they are flying (and any other ships they have parked up). Everybody who has bought the Game starts from a level playing field.

High-quality models in different scales, as kits or not along with paintjobs and/or decals.

If you really want to just give away cash, I'm more than glad to put that unwanted cash to good use. I think a Nomad-1000 would suit me well.
