Paypal can be annoying, I had problems too with changing IP's and forgotten "security questions" (I hate these security holes!). But still it works pretty good, I pay much over paypal.

Looks like I've stirred up the hornets nest big time!
I was thinking to try again tomorrow, but I'll probably never get another code, find my account deleted, and won't even get the Bata!! Not only this, but my fiancé found out I tried to buy it today and she is really mad, (she complains when i look at the videos on youtube), she also found my Internet history about the Oculus Rift, she's put two and two together and is really ed-off!

I'll get some Lego tomorrow and make a model of Cobra_Mk.III, run around the house going, whoosh whoosh peaw peaw and maybe she will relent and stop getting so jealous about elite for the sake of sanity.

While I'm on the subject, perhaps a new thread for counciling future players on how to play Elite and keep there loved ones! Or is that possible.

I think your bigger problem is that your due to marry someone that gets ed off when you spend your own money, watch non pornographic videos on youtube and think about buying the future of video games (the OR) :D

I'd be having a powwow and nipping that right in the bud.

We use the old tactic of talking to each other about what's important to us both, and allowing each other to do those things whilst recognising that there will be times when other activities have to take precedence. If there a budget decisions to be made we chat about that too, and work out what's most important and when.

Great Advice!

Thanks for your posts! Believe it or not, It's not about spending the money. Its the usual problem of women hating the fact that your on the computer, rather than spending time with them! ;)))

However, I have a cunning strategy planned.
She used to play a game called Hospital Tycoon. She talks about it from time to time, with the same endearing nostalgia and happy personal associations that I have with elite! So, a few hours before I reveal I actually have Elite, (And the Oculus Rift), I will present her with a copy of Hospital Tycoon, and a functioning lap top. I will also present her with some lady gifts and makeup. When she is engrossed with Hospital Tycoon (And a face full of new makeup),I will complain she is playing too much, I know she will say something like, "I just have one more Person to cure! Look there all getting sick again!!", I will then, at that moment, take out my Laptop with Elite and the Oculus Rift and start playing.

Precision of timing will be paramount in this operation. I've done something like this with her before, with great effect!
