PB Questions

Hi everyone,

I was a huge Elite fan since Elite 2. I cannot begin to tell you how many hours I spent playing this game during my downtime while deployed in the US Navy as ship's company overseas.

I am very interested in the PB and will most likely purchase it this week but I have a few questions that I have had a hard time finding answers too (or my searching just sucks)

1. Are we only regulated to the missions or is there sandbox play?
2. And in that gameplay, are there plenty of NPC pirates, faction ships, anomalies and other surprises that one may run across/get into trouble with?
3. So when the PB hits, do we yet know what we'll be getting in terms of new features?
4. Can one "misjump" like what was possible back in Elite 2?
5. I remember playing Elite 2 on keyboard back then. Is it pretty intuitive to still play using the keyboard? (I will eventually get a joystick but it will take time after I explain to my wife why I'm paying this much for PB access. lol)

Thanks!
Brian

Yes to all of your questions.

There is fill hyperspace and trading in the PB, as well as canned missions.

Can I suggest you watch all the progress diaries here;

As this will very quickly show you the vision they are aiming at.

Think of everything you loved about Frontier Elite 2 and then bring it up-to-date with modern hardware, make it bigger and make it multiplayer.

What they have done so far is also very polished and it has exceeded my expectations in every way.

Also, if you can't stretch to a decent joystick it can be fully playable with mouse and keyboard. You can also play well on an Xbox 360 joypad.

I hope you take the plunge and look forward to bumping into you it there ;-)

You will play the premium beta, with the essential functionalities of FE2 (except planetary landings at the moment). Different versions of betas will certainly expanded. However, the almost full game will be released during the gamma certainly. And the first full version for retail release. Later come the planetary landings
