PB2.0 Astrographic Catalogue

As per title. Apologies to your eyes for not all images being the same format (will make sure format is kept for any future work). Some stars have 2 images, one including the corona (cor), and one close up to the surface (sur). Will make sure this goes for all stars for future work (except if very low illumination factor).

Impressions: Individually most of the planets look absolutely astounding I think, although for some it is apparent this is all still work-in-progress, perhaps most apparent regarding Nirvana (the clouds) and Eranin 6 (small craters square golf-ball-texture anyone? :p ). Overall, quite a few of the planets look almost identical sharing the same theme, for example the 'Vulcan' type planets (Aulin 4, Smithy's Claim (Dahan 2b), Zhang's Claim (Dahan 2c), Jonty's Claim (Dahan 2d), Dahan 3b etc). Also I must say the colour palette is leaning heavily towards the brown, in fact pretty much all the planets except 3 are brown/gray. A bit tedious on the eye, especially if you compare this to our own solar-system

However! As I said above am confident that this is all work-in-progress and we will see significant improvements to variation, colours, textures etc. Some of the planets do look quite amazing already, I think! Hope you enjoy the catalogue.

Nice. Now, when the full game is released, will you do it again for every system? :D

If I am not completely mistaken the First Great Expedition team does plan to keep a full catalogue over all the celestial objects that are discovered, and I am involved with that, so the answer to your question is: Hopefully, Yes! That would be the ambition in any case. :)

Nice work.

They clearly need to work a little on planet texturing still.

Agreed, but I have seen a big improvement in the rocky planets in B1.03 - a lot more detail. I still get a bit lagggy near rings and the gas giants need to be more nebulous IMO.

Anyway, here's how a partially molten planet should look (GIF):
