If I could believe that some people wouldn't use it to embark on a whole new round of seal clubbing I'd almost agree. I just think that the experience those of us who already play have is bonus enough, ideally everything else should be level as possible at the start. A few months in is another story altogether.
If this game is to be "realistic" there will be commanders that are better than those starting out - here there are PC gamers way better than me but I still play it on open.
Frontier have to weigh up if they want the extra money of people coming from PC to PS4, and if they want to make up for the amount of time PS4 users have been waiting due to the exclusive Xbox deal. I would have happily started again when Xbox version came out.....but another year of gaming - no thanks!
I have wanted PS4 version right from when I signed up to the kickstarter and backed the project, as frontier have been teasing it going to playstation since day one, including David Braben talking on the PS4 console release day on the BBC, I think it is only right that we should be able to bring our commanders with us I have had no choice but to stick with my dodgy old PC to play the game holding out hope of the PS version.
When it comes to PS4 I am basically making a decision of whether to continue playing the game or not;
1/ I have already played the game to the level I am at, why start again? It has taken months of gameplay to get where I am, I love Elite, but I am not starting again - sorry.
2/ My PC struggles with the Horizons update so I cant continue on PC.
From reading posts on here and elsewhere there are many "old school" gamers in the same position as me, played Elite 1 "back in the day" and have a PS console and a dodgy old make do PC.
So please frontier do the honourable thing, you need some founders on the PS version anyhow
