PC exclusivity - please!

I have one wish, and one wish alone, that the game not be on consoles. Of course I'd be delighted to see it on any PC operating system (Mac, Windows, Linux, whatever).

The lack of processing power necessitated by making JW:E playable on consoles really hit its management simulation, and it felt sorely lacking in comparison to Planet Coaster. I know the game is only announced for Steam so far, and I'm just praying it stays that way. Absolute must-purchase for me.

I just read a preview that stated it's only Windows Platform, so no consoles probably.

If it runs on an extended and better version of the Planco Cobra Engine, it's unlikely to be able to be played on consoles anyways.

It would not be good business to exclude potential customers. I suspect though that it is not going to be ported to the current generation of consoles, hence the Windows only tag. I would not be surprised to see it appear on the next gen consoles in a year or so.

Have you seen the (alleged) specifications for the next gen consoles?

No I haven't. But to be honest, I am totally not interested in consoles.

I have 1 "console" at home, that's a Nvidia Shield, which actually is just a stream box, but every game works (even Planco) because it just streams the image to my TV.

But as you mentioned it I just seen the specs, the only thing it states is "based upon a Ryzen" which is not the same, so, as history learned, the new PS5 would probably still be less powerful than my own build desktop, that is not that great either, but does the trick.

To be fair, the only reason I can think of for buying a PS or Xbox are the game titles that are bound to that console only. But that would be the only reason, which is not reason enough for me.

Besides, it looks like the game will play and feel like it's Planet Coaster, which is practically unplayable on a controller. So if it handles the same, I won't see it happening. But I'm not against consoles in anyway, so if they release on console I'm fine with it.

Oh yes, the next gen looks like it could be great, but my concern is not the next gen, but the current gen. There's no doubt at all we lost out on some features for JW:E because of the varied demands across PC and console. I love consoles, they're amazing machines, but they're not designed for tycoon/sim/management games, as their (current) design prioritises graphical processing over raw processing (on the whole).

Anyhow, someone linked me a preview which suggests that PZ is going to be PC exclusive, at least to start with, so I'm very positive about what that means. Thanks for the reply and have a marvellous day.
