Engineers PD modding - how 2 permaboost?

I'm specifically engineering for my iEagle, but the theory should hold for every ship. What's better for maximising how often you can boost - engine focused or charge enhanced? Assuming no considerations for sys or weap.

Engine focused (grade 5) gives you +60% Capacity and +44% recharge. Engines only, everything else is worse off.

Charge enhanced (grade 5) gives you -5% Capacity and +45% recharge. On everything.

So for what you are after, I would say engine focused.

If you're planning to make a weaponless drag racer, engine focused and never look back. If you plan to put any sort of armaments on it, charge enhanced is usually the better bet so you can keep your options open.

If you've got the parts and mats to spare, try them both and see if charge enhanced is sufficient. If not, switch to engine focused and boost away!

One more thing to add: it also depends of the Power Distributor. If you use an A one and you also have a shield (maybe even some weapons), charge enhanced may be better. If you are using a D (trying to squeeze every ton of mass), definitely engine focused only. And don't forget the special effect.

I tried both on my 932 m/s IEagle and engine focused was better. But this is a very lightweight build so it was a 1A PD with stripped down effect, because of the weight. I don't like the boost on the IEagle, it's far from a permaboost like on other ships.

And I can reach 932 m/s only with FA off...
