Can I ask if this screenshot is same as SC arena? The reason i ask is because it looks rather similar, am I allowed to compare ED with SC?:rolleyes:

If your suggesting 'who copied who', and (I haven't seen the station in SC your referring to); It' more likely SC is copying E:D, given E:D's development began before SC's.
 
Having read back over the thread, basically everyones sentiment has been: "This should be in the main game, I am otherwise indifferent to this announcement."

ED is in this weird kind of uncanny valley at present; so close to being simply brilliant, but a hundred little niggles plunge it into being ultimately un-engaging.

Some small tweaks and additions would make it the perfect space sim.
 
Looking good. Hope CQC can be integrated in to the main game. Perhaps as Arena's in Capital systems and permit locked locations?
 
So, when you say "map", are you inferring that this area is closed off from the main galaxy map? If so, what is the reason behind this kind of segregation? Also, will multiple commander slots be implemented so that one's current save isn't tarnished if one partook CQC and completely sucked at it? ;) :)

It's amazing that the asteroid field in this map looks more amazing (IMO) than the actual asteroid/ring systems currently implemented. Either that or I happen to come across all the worse looking ones. ;)

What comes from Elite: Dangerous, is Elite: Dangerous; and whatever comes from Star Citizen, is Star Citizen. :)

I think its fine where it is - all sorts of logistical challenges exist if you are exploring. In deep space there are no stations or outposts so I don't see what mechanic you could add to make a believable transition to the CQC.
 
like a lot of peeps i do think that those assets ( space elevator, hidden asteroid base, etc ) should be incorporated in the main game. perso i dont care about cqc. etienne
