Peep cap has increased! a lot........

I noticed while in my park with 3,000 peeps that it was hovering around 3,020. Thinking it was just a hiccup, I spammed a bunch of flat rides and sure enough, the peeps kept flooding in!

I continued spamming flat rides....4,000....5,000....6,000...7,000...8,000...is there even a cap?! [shocked] It kept going but I had to stop. Look at all these ants!

I didn't have enough food stalls to accommodate the peep convention so they all swarmed that one spot.

Performance was surprisingly decent from 4,000-5,000. Noticeable slow down really started appearing with 6,000+. It gets pretty laggy when zoomed in on very congested areas like above but I bet if the peeps were more spread out and had more queues to fill up(mine are all full!) it would be a little better.

Otherwise...8,000+ peeps?! [shocked][shocked][shocked] Anyone want to take the challenge on hitting the cap?

That is awesome, I have been away pretty much since Alpha Phase 2 has dropped so only had a few hours on it. But am feeling the itch to have a play this weekend again now.

Same here, not really had much time in the game. But great news on the peep count, though my PC was struggling a bit on the 3000, can't imagine what it's going to be like on 8k. More reason for me to get the new 1080 card just out... time for an upgrade from my old 770. My CPU is still decent being an i7.

10k and still rising, 13 fps on a 980 TI and a I7 at 4.7ghz watercooled... Wooo

The numbers kinda break though :D

Soooo... i got to 13k and i started to get graphic glitches so am going to say i hit the cpu/gpu unit. Was getting bad :p down to 10fps.

Nice, my i7 6700k (not yet over clocked) shows serious signs of slowing at 4k guests, 20fps at 5k guests. I do hope there are more optimisations to come, that park doesn't look anywhere near full yet. Im sure that most real world parks must get much higher attendance figures than that, although I'm aware compromises must be made. rct3 for me used to crap out around 1-2k guests and lack of multithreading support means this hasn't improved much with time either, so definitely a step in the right direction.

well they originally said 20k if i recall, so i imagine there will be optimizations in place that massively improve high guest frame rate.

It would be great if they can get to that number. I reached 7k on a test park, it crashed at auto save, and was down to averaging around 15fps. The menus start to get slow at that frame rate and button presses seem to be missed, I know I've got an older gpu right now , but the GPU usage % starts to drop massively by this number of guests and the CPU % stays at ~90+ so pretty sure it's CPU limited.
Interestingly though the simulation speed didn't seem to slow massively like other CPU intensive simulations, and the fast forward buttons still had an effect (im looking at you skylines and prison architect [big grin]) so that gives me hope.

My pc is pretty horrible but I am so going to make a park with loads of paths and food/drink stalls and see how far I can get before the game crashes on my pc [big grin]

The high settings seem to increase detail of ppl a lot compared to medium settings. My pc kinda crappy to but I had no problem with 3000 and a lot of scenery on medium. But high is terrible. I think high settings reduce performance a lot with many peeps.
