Pending states and frozen influences

The influences remain frozen during the duration of a conflict, but do they also freeze during the pending state?
I have observed that in some systems but I do not know if it is a general behavior.

This is normal and probably intentional.

(Whether elections and wars now need a pending period at all is a separate question, of course)

I would assume that it is deliberate and that they are trying to get away from the old "win this war without firing a shot" scenario, or the old "use this war to leapfrog over three other factions" gambit.

I would agree that, with influences frozen, "pending" now means "go away and do something else, somewhere else, for a couple of days". Which is great if you're a multi-system-multi-faction supporter trying to keep your eyes on a dozen systems at once, but not so great if you're a small start-up BGS player with only one faction in one system. Imagine telling combateers that they can't blow things up for two days, or telling explorers they have to freeze and not explore anywhere for two days.

Actually, that latter one I don't need to imagine. It happened.

Locked influences mean around a third of our systems are currently unplayable - the BGS is rapidly grinding to a halt

Question without notice: Can anyone confirm (or deny) that influence levels remain locked during the cooldown period ? On my one example so far, it would appear so.

Observed a nearby War end by today and the % shifted +4 for the victor and -4 for the loser. Going to monitor if there are any changes on tomorrows or subsequent days and come back here for to report.

I've been tracking several conflicts.

Recovery display is missing, but once the conflict is over it frees up and influence shifts.

The changes right now mean there is no recovery day as it used to be, with one last day of conflict but the conflict is resolved.
Instead the shift in victory and resolution comes when the conflict is over - as well as the updated influence changes from who won and lost.

24h after the War ended, both figures in the System it previously happened in stay rock solid. No movementat all, despite all other MF moving up / down.

Yep. Influence shifts on the day the conflict ends, but remains 'locked' in the recovery period interestingly.

So, during Beta, I observed a bug where the war progress meter was also present when a war was Pending or in Cooldown. At the time, this made it impossible for me to tell when the conflict had started and when it had ended (although a faction would show a None state in system, they were At War in the Squadron Allegience view).

That bug got fixed, but if influence is locked still in cooldown, perhaps that's intended?

Appears that it is intended to lock influence.

That, or its a coding issue they can't get around. We all know how bungled the thing can be at times with other issues...

Yep, it's rather interesting in Systems with an uneven amount of Factions.

6 Factions at Election or War - and the 7th (Controlling) Faction can take upto 10 days of unplanned Vacation. Nothing to report, nothing to do :D

It's rather weird.

Similarly, super happy Factions dropping a Security Level (i.e. Medium to Low), despite enjoying maximum Economic success, Liberty and Expansion/Investment in these places *scratches head*
Such places rather behave as if they had a Security problem.

I think Investment comes with a minor Security penalty - spending on construction rather than police? - and most of our region is so close to the Medium line in default state that it switches it.
