People Making Videos..

Keep up the good work Zeewolf, I personally think your 'first impressions' videos were very good.

So much so that I plan to do some myself once I get into the game.
Although at the moment I have no idea what I am doing... just need to practice I think :S

Hmm, well thanks for the compliment.
Although like many on here I find that any sort of video is helpful and/or fun to look at. As a fellow Alpha player it can be interesting to see what others do or what they personally struggle with or do well at.

Many on here just post them up to sow their impressions, not to review or specifically show off the game-play.

I know mine are certainly in that vein and as yet I have only bothered to do on the fly voice on 1 one of them (and that was at a whisper as my boys were asleep, so it sounds boring!)

Besides, at the end of the day that is what the subscribe button is for on YouTube, you add who you like.

The few I have done are really for friends who are due to join us in the beta, just wanting to see a bit of gameplay from someone they know and so they can have a chat about it with me, and ridicule me for some of the fails. Nothing out of the ordinary captured yet, if and when I do capture something a bit special, I will share more widely, I doubt most people want to see the same old thing over and over, but not done as well.

As a Beta backer hungrily devouring Alpha footage from Twitch and Youtube, I completely disagree with the OP. Seeing people getting into a cockpit for the fist time and reversing into asteroids as they try and figure out the controls is just as much, if not more enlightening then seeing a perfect docking manoeuvre.

Being with someone else as they explore something new to both them and me is the closest I can get to being in the Alpha without finding another £100 down the back of the sofa.

To the OP - stop trying to take things away from the internet just because you don't like them. There's an awful lot more people out there who's fun you will ruin if you succeed.

I'm all for it. I enjoy seeing the alpha's... BUT !!!
People who have no clue of what they are doing should NOT put their video up - "to get in first" or whatever else.
It's not only frustrating watching somebody bumble around hopelessly, it also detracts from the game.
How about #1, practice first ! and #2, KNOW WHAT ELITE IS.. rather than loading it, assuming you know what you're doing, and embarrassing yourself AND the product with your YouTube video!

To those who DO know what Elite is, HOW its played, and can actually FOLLOW CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS IN GAME... keep up the good work.

Could be that the OP misses the point of YouTube entirely. The idea is that you are somewhat critical in what YOU watch. YOU choose what to watch and what not to watch. If you want broadcast quality TV you're going to have to look around and find some people who you like and who you don't, but don't for one minute think that posting here is going to put anyone off making videos. And to put my money where mouth is, take my Elite: Dangerous YouTube channel and feel free to like, subscribe and comment if you want to see something changed.
