After about 2000LY credits lose all meaning, they become irrelevant.

Precisely so.
I had my first exploration trip prepared for love of exploring. But credits were still part of the equation. But... when 6666ly from point of origin in colonized space... just looking around was the reward in itself.

Checking low z high z of galaxy, Netron Stars, Proto-stars, Black Holes, wierd planets in wierd places. 4 Sun sunsets....

Aarh.
Since my last 28k ly trip I went in combat just to renew handling and explore repair/damage model. But... thinking about it... Time to visit some other places I get in my bucket list. :)

Yes it was. Until yesterday my canopy cracked while I was 26.000LY away from any repair facility due to flying just a few k's away from a blackhole.
Now I'm flying zenlike anymore :(

How did you manage to take dmg from a black hole? Flied into it too fast? I'm asking because I could go 24km close to a black hole and only got pictures!!! They make 0 heat, and if you are super cruising toward them it's really difficult to actually hit it instead of just overshooting it.

You shouldn't rub it in :D

This has been answer each way it can on the first 2 pages. So, I'm going to ask the mod to close this thread since people are just saying what others all (almost feels like it's starting to be a circle jerk now that the question is being modify to the galaxy or other crap is pay).

For anyone just wondering what I gather. Exploring doesn't pay, and it does need to be fixed very badly. You get paid more from scanning stars, but the map is already loaded with the star type.
Also, the range that people are people are getting is about the same as mining.
