Percentages of Players that have reached Elite and other Ranks

I've wondered if there is somewhere Frontier could have a board posted with percentages of players that have reached certain milestones.

I could see that maybe they wouldn't want to list real numbers but a percentage would be interesting. (to me at least)

I made it to Elite in Trading today and am curious about how many other CMDRs have done the same.

Could be interesting to also see numbers for Federation / Empire / Alliance ranks as well.

Anyone agree or is that just silly?

I agree. I have wondered about the number of people who have reached elite, but no one seems to know. Or rather, no one who knows is posting.

Only reached Combat Elite 10 days ago. I wiped my save from Beta the day before launch due to being rep bugged. So, it took me a fair bit of time, playing nearly every day to reach it. I made it a little more difficult for myself, however, by refusing to turret farm near any cap ships, and wanted to do it without losing a ship, which made me play more cautiously.

FD can't release a list of ELITE players because the most notorious cheats are all right up there after farming CZ's (rezri not you).

Even if it's not possible to give "live" figures, it would make a more interesting read in the newsletter than all the Powerplay teasing we've had recently. So maybe an occasional newsletter item giving this information would be good.

I posted to the forum awhile back asking about how many people had cracked Elite - it was a transparent attempt to get a dev to answer. And it didn't work. Maybe this time, though, this thread will give us some idea.
