Performance down since 2.2?

I've never had any kind of micro-stuttering or dropped frames before 2.2. Now I'm getting it all the time. Flying straight it great, but if I turn too fast things start to stutter. This is TERRIBLE in VR. Anyone else experiencing this, and by chance do you have a fix? I put my settings all the way to VR Low and it didn't change anything. Things were playing great up until now.
 
Yes I am getting this as well... However, it is only on dropping from SC into say a station or RES site. It lasts for about 10ish seconds and then is normal from there on out until I drop from SC the next time. I'm using mirillis action for screens and video. The FPS counter never drops below 60-80fps at a RES site or 80-120 FPS at a station with the graphics maxed running at 2560x1080. So it seems like its acting as if something is loading in but I'm not sure what.

The only places where I got a massive initial framedrop (upto a complete halt/freeze over several seconds straight) was when approaching one or two neaby landable Planets.
Same for logging in when landed on a Planetary Base, game essentially froze up for almost 10sec before the Hangar lights come up and I could do anything.

Those used to create some stutter, but now (using the same Ultra/Max. settings) I discovered it to be utterly unplayable on my R9 290 for about 10-15 sec. After that period, it's back to 50-60fps.
I've now set the Aniso Generation setting from Ultra to High and reduced my GPU Terrain work to 50%, that helped alot.

So far, the Matchmaking Server keeps disappearing (very irritating when mining, but it was also happening when leaving No-Fire-Zones); and it now takes several minutes to:
  • access station services
  • load the commodities market from station services
  • load the Galaxy Map
  • load System Map
  • access the shipyard or outfitter from station services
Are some of the servers still busy with people updating, or is this a case of version 1.7 attempting to load version 2.2 64-bit content on a 32-bit machine?
 
Yup, same here. Micro stuttering in fast turns. Stutter seems to be at about 8 to 10 FPS but frame counter at bottom left shows 30 ish

I've noticed a drop in frames when I drop out of SC approaching a station, but it sorts it's self out (playing in VR) I'm on a 970/DK2/i7 3770/8gb Ram and Medium settings, otherwise the frame rate is steady 75. I do have some strange screen shaking sometimes, I wonder if this is a feature of 2.2 or an issue with my VR setup, as you can imagine this is horrible in VR, it comes and goes.

Just to check you're using the latest GPU drivers? I had to update my recently for Mafia III anyway so I'm on the latest.
 
Frame rate drops and worse, black dots on planets that resolve into a bit of light shadow.
I know my Laptop is not a gaming rig, but if it looks suckey....

My performance is up actually...so yeah.

However I've seen people posting about a LOT of stability issues with a lot of games with latest nvidia and AMD drivers in general, 375,63 for nvidia, can't remember for AMD.
If you have a nvidia graphic card use the previous, 375,57 instead these are the ones I am using and they seem just fine.
 
For me the performance is the worst it's ever been and the live is even worse than the beta. Coming out of supercruise is truly awful for 10-20 seconds - interdictions are close to impossible. I haven't played 2.2 in VR yet but I think I may have to give it a wide berth until this is fixed. Shame as otherwise 2.2 is a great update.

Can confirm, I'm getting stuttering and frame-rate tanking. It's most obvious when I drop into normal space, e.g. at a station or a nav-beacon. I think whilst objects are being loaded I'm getting massive slow-down.

There is also judder on the hyperspace/loading screen startup. Exit into SC seems fairly smooth though.

RAID-0 SSD, 16GB Quad channel DDR4 and SLI 970 at 1080p.
 
Yep - I get the stuttering dropping from SC to a station in VR a lot now. Lasts about 5-10 seconds and then resolves. That's running a 1070 GPU and with ASW enabled. I left the profiler settings (the Dr Kaii app) as they were from 2.1 as everything else seems ok.
 
Ya I think I forgot to mention that but I'm getting it mostly when I drop from SC. How crappy is this. I always hope in these situations that people say it's just me so that I can fix it. Now I'll probably have to wait for a patch or something.
 
2.2 performance is markedly worse for me - in fact I logged a bug report on it yesterday. Planetary landings are almost impossible for me now with basic crashes or uncontrollable frame rate loss. Stations are perceptibly slower though still playable. I hope they figure this out because I've gone from high to low on settings to try and counter and it's still really bad.

That, and I spend about three times as long sitting around waiting for menus and station interfaces to load.

What drivers? updated them lately?
 
Performance for me has been excellent. I've managed about 4 hours play in v2.2 thus far. Inside the new stations with spotlights, on planet surfaces, always 60fps.

I do occasionally get little stutters in the "tunnel" when doing a Frameshift jump, but that has always happened for me.

I'm running an GTX950 2GB card, not sure of the driver version.
