[Performance] Draw distance

Hello all !

In my parc, when i build stuff, the game run smoothly.

But in FPS mode, when the camera look the horizon, ALL objects in the line of sight are drawed, result in performance drop.

Can we have a Draw Distance selector ? Like an extreme LOD feature ? All objects beyond this distance, will not draw

In FPS mode, I don't need to draw all the objects (especially if they are behind several walls, hills, sceneries ...)

What do you think ?
 
I'm not 100% sure about this but I think the performance issues with the game is because of the guest AI calculations, and not because of what's drawn on screen.

Changing high/low graphic settings doesn't really do anything for me except save a few fps, but changing guest numbers does give a much higher performance boost.

Guest numbers definitely improve performance. High/Low settings seem to improve on some PC's but not others so its dependent on Hardware. On my 5820K i7 4.2 CPU and GTX 1070. Nothing changes when messing with graphics. In fact I had an RX-470 card before getting the gtx 1070 and there was no difference in FPS between those two either or graphics settings. I always run my game in ultra/High settings.

I have a friend though that we are doing a collab park with who does see a difference in performance when lowering grpahics. I don't know his pc specs though but I think he has an i5 CPU.

I've talked to others in my stream chat who also notice a difference when changing settings with graphics. and again.. others who don't see a difference. So its very subjective.

All in all though.. Planet Coaster is a CPU intensive game. Once you reacha certain threshold in graphics card performance. It doesn't make a difference in upgrading that. But the CPU... can definitely make a difference.
