Performance hit whilst tweaking

Hi all.

I tried the 2560x1440 supersampling tweak on my single GTX760. The image improvement was stunning. But the fps hit was shocking (suprise suprise).
So Ive reverted back to 1080 and cannot get performance back to what it was pre DSR.
I've removed the custom resolution, reinstalled drivers, poked prodded tweaked but the only way I can hit the 75 fps (using the asteroid field tutorials) is to set everything off/low and Oculus Image Quality to approx 50%. Which is unplayable. I find I get a tad nuaseous if fps drops below 72fps.

One other thing that could possibly have influenced this drop is mucking about with the options folder. I copied the FD options folder, turned off OR and fired up the game on my screen again last night. Once finished I swapped the old settings back into the FD Options folder. On restart with the OR it did ask for an auto find of hardware settings.

I'm also finding some slight oddities whilst tweaking settings. I monitor fps, gpu temps and gpu load using MSI Afterburner. To get a judder free 75 fps the gpu load needs to be sat at 50 to 60%. With loads of detail switched on and fps dropping to a nauseating 30 - 40 the gpu load generally sits at 80 - 90%. Not seen anything set it flat out. I'm guessing there's spikes in load that are not being reported by the averaged figures but not sure.

Even if I get the performance back to what it was it's still a touch lacking for 100% play, trading almost impossible due to unreadable galaxy map.

I think I'm gonna have to reluctantly shelve the DK2 until I have more GPU.
But I've seen the light. It was strapped 1" from my eyeballs but it was light nonetheless. The future looks damn exciting for VR and gaming.
