Performance

During the live stream today they said the had a FIX for the the problems with performance and things the tool kit caused.[happy] So can someone tell me after all the money and time I have put in this game and have NOT Been Able to play it for the last two weeks[mad][mad] because for those issues that me or any of us should have to[mad][mad] wait another week for it to be playable and fixed. This fix should not be delayed as it effects a lot of people.

I've played the game yesterday and I didn't have an issue with a fresh park, so claiming the game is unplayable is not correct.

Hmm, some people just have this problem, some not. If you don´t have the problem, it doesn´t mean others are without prolems too. For them, it indeed might be unplayable. Generally saying something is not correct just because you don´t experience that.... is not correct imo ?

One week wait...it's not like it's a threat to mankind's future existence or your entire life is ruined because you couldn't play a video game for two weeks.

My parks have the lag bug too. I'm very happy to know that it's been addressed and I'll be even happier in a few days to see their work first hand. I've used the time to work on structures and other things on a fresh bench that can be moved as blueprints into my park when it's fixed. I haven't really lost anything in the deal...

They may need these extra few days to complete their fix. I know it can be hard to wait when you're having these kinds of problems. Hang in their for a few more days [happy]

Yes, I agree. My mistake on that part.

But I generally read it only concerned larger parks. Sorry.

[my opinion throughout]

How'd you feel if it was vacation tickets? Would "we'll make 'em good for when we're up'n'running again" compensate for the disruption to the rest of your life? It doesn't have to be the end of the world for it to be a significant issue for people intending to devote a specific block of precious free time to enjoying a product they've purchased.

But it's not vacation tickets. It's a video game, so there's no comparison to be made. A video game that, while it has severe problems being able to work on large parks, can still be used to do other things in the game. Frustrating? Absolutely. A disruption to the rest of my life??? Hardly...

That analogy doesn't make much sense. This is not vacation tickets. Those you plan for a long time ahead at a completely different price point. This is a game and it is playable. It won't ruin your life if you can't play for x days. You are comparing hot dogs with apples (not even the same food group).

Do you go to Disney and cry/complain if a ride you wanted to ride happen to have difficulties or are closed due to weather or scheduled maintenance (could be scheduled after you bought your vacation tickets to the park)? I doubt it, you ride something else instead. It is a game, play a different game instead until this one works (only a week out at this point) or go outside and enjoy the world.

So you don't plan your time off around what software you're looking forward to playing with -- great for you. Some people do, and therefor feel comparable frustration when their plans are disrupted by issues with the software. This is worse when the resolution of those issues is ready but release is delayed for seemingly unrelated reasons. Demeaningly dismissing the impact this can have is not, in my humble opinion, nice.

I'm glad it's less of a disruption for you.

They never said that the fix was ready. They said they knew about it, were working on it, and it would be released next week.

As others have said, sure, it's an inconvenience, but there are still plenty of things that can be done in the game. Like Wagi, I am building things on a new bench with no lag, until I can reopen my big one. So, sorry that you are inconvenienced, but it's not like you can't do anything in game.

Why Frontier don't just select the 'fix bug' button and apply now instead of next week is baffling [wacky] Clearly it's not that simple and as CityTrader mentioned they haven't actually said it's ready for a full release. Just chill, it's coming that's the main thing no need for any [mad] emotes.

My opinion throughout:

I disagree -- frustration and disappointment in being unable to fulfill carefully-laid time-off plans is a perfect reason for [mad] emotes and the like. I'm sure the Frontier-peeps are doing their best, including the decisions they've made about scheduling. That doesn't mitigate the impact! It still hurts. Demeaningly dismissing other people's pain does no one any good.

I've had other things pop up recently that prevent me from doing much PlanCo stuff until the update anyway, probably until next year. But I'm still reading the forums when I can, and looking forward to better days.
