Perhaps a good place to start a colony

I'm still a causal explorer and far from expert, but I have found something nice (hopefully something rare and worth sharing - comments welcome).

Apart from ELW , there are two nice WW and bunch of metal rich planets. What is interesting is that most of them are terraformable, actually only moon of 7th planet (WW) and 8th planets are not. So this was a very well paid find.

Is this rare, or rare but not that rare, or quite common?

Nice find CMDR! Pretty rare by my personal experience. I've only found systems like that maybe once or twice myself.

If I'm reading this right, that's five terraforming candidates and one Earth-like around a solo class A star? In that case, it should be pretty rare. Not because of the Earth-like, but because you have two binary pairs in the habitable zone then, plus the WW farther from the ELW.
So, congrats, Commander!

So far A star systems (at least to me) have been always full of surprises, I had couple of nice finds before in them, but this one is the best so far. I like B stars as well, but chance of finding ELW or WW in them seems quite slim and so far I found only one WW.

I'd chime in on the side saying A class systems are the most varied and potentially the type with highest rate of ELW's. You get a lot of large radius planets and subsequently also a lot of tiny moons around them. They might be a bit low on metal rich planets compared to B class, seems like the galactic forge limits close orbiting planets a lot more in A class than other star types, but other than that you get most of the extreme oddities.
That said, I'm a greedy explorer and goes for the highest rate of terraforming candidates which, in my opinion, seems to occur more often in F class systems. \o/

Yeah, it's a balance between how wide the habitable zone is and how far it is from the star - and how Elite models planet formation around various star types. A and F stars are in the sweet spot, so to speak: wide zone, not too distant, and good chances of suitable planets forming inside the zone. B stars, on the other hand, have even wider zones that are a bit too distant, and it appears that suitable candidates form much more rarely there.

Nice find. Pretty rare, but with the billions of systems in the game, there's all kinds of cool stuff out there you can find. Below are a few of my favorites that I found or co-founded – two other Commanders had tags in the last system before I got there and tagged that ringed Earth-like world.

Part of what keeps me exploring is finding cool systems like those. The first is probably my favorite so far, even ahead of the system nebula I found.

Cheers.

Ah, I haven't turned that one in yet. Still out for maybe another month or so. Maybe someone will beat me to it. :)

Are you close to any of populated nebula? I'm sure you are aware but there are asteroid stations in some of them, so perhaps stations are not that far away from you.

I hadn't considered that, but probably not as far out as I am either way though. At the moment I'm somewhere around 6K Ly away from the closest regular nebula.

Cheers.
