Permission to use Elite lore and universe in a free novel

Pardon me if this is not the right forum area.
I'm currently writing a novel based on Elite lore and universe (in Italian, my mother tongue), using my gameplay experiences (expecially during the last Thargoid war).
Now, I'm wondering if I need an explicit permission from Frontier. I'm planning to publish the novel free of charge on my website.

my novel based on Elite: Dangerous universe is online. I plan to publish one chapter at a time, when is ready. It is available for reading online or downloading as PDF or EPUB.
It is available only in Italian, my English isn't good enough to do such a task.

Per chi è di lingua italiana: sto scrivendo un racconto ambientato nell'universo di Elite: Dangerous. Viene pubblicato un capitolo alla volta, senza periodicità precisa, praticamente quando è pronto. Ogni capitolo ha la possibilità di essere scaricato per leggerlo offline in PDF o EPUB.
