Persistent USS, what the mystery behind it?

Hi CMDRs,

i wanted to share a mysterious discovery i made in the Algol system. There is a persistent USS near Algol A 3 containing a ship wreckage, containers with "earth relics" and a npc cobra named "Cetus' Bane" who just stands still and has 2 more earth relics in his hold. He also has a very unique paintjob:

What i discovered is that he starts jumping away after a fuel transfer. I also followed him but after some jumps later he just stayed still in supercruise.

Maybe this is something interesting to look after. Its defienetly something new wich has been introduced with the latest Patch. I could imaine it is some hint to search the stars of the cetus zodiac or some other riddle.

There are also other commanders who made this discovery, maybe in beta and now dont find it again cos it maybe has moved when the new patch went live.

there is another version of cetus' bane: perseus has shown him medusa's head and he turned into stone and sank to the gound of the sea.

As he behaves like turned into stone in the USS i tried the fuel transfer and he also jumps away but "turns into stone" again in supercruise after some jumps... then i quit investigating this any further..

I followed him until he low waked to a station. Thats when I lost him. I dock, but found nothing interesting.
I also had the relics with me.

So I gave Cetus' Bane some fuel and followed him to a system next door. From SC I followed his low wake and he wasn't there. I think I screwed up and came out of SC too soon. So off I went back to Algol.

This time I followed him and he went to a different system, so it's not pre-scripted where he heads after giving him fuel. This time, I followed his low wake into his instance. He stopped and didn't do much.

After a minute or so waiting for something to happen, I went to the settings menu to find out what the screenshot button was, but kept a close eye on the screen behind.

I got a "Ship Scan Detected" and thought my friend Bane was waking up, but no. There was some other NPC in the instance. Andrew Langhammer. After scanning he high waked without a word. As Bane is a special NPC and Bane was being boring doing nothing, I thought andrew was significant so I followed him.

The system he arrived in, he soon dropped from SC. He said "I'll be watching you.". Ominous. After about 5 minutes of circling around with me following him, he high waked again.

This time when he dropped from SC he said "That's a shame. I felt sure you had a bounty on you.". At this point I realised my glass of wine was empty and he was probably a standard NPC that happened in to Bane's instance earlier.

Now my glass of wine is full again I think I'll head back to Algol and see where Bane takes me this time!

I followed Cetus' Bane for 5 jumps this time, but it bugged. Each time I gave him fuel and he jumped. I followed and followed. But on the 5th system, his low wake was under the altitude where the star dropped me. I couldn't get close enough to his low wake :-(
