Recently someone asked about the Fer-de-Lance in Elite Dangerous, that turned on my mind about the idea to build some personal 3d models of possible ships in Elite Dangerous.
Probably they will remain only that.. a 'personal idea' or 'prototype' of how some ships should be designed.
Anyhow i can't resist to put something from my own to this amazing project.
Anyone can add their own of course and i will update time by time the jobs.

Hey why not, I think its great you are putting your talents to good use. And who knows some of your ideas may spark something further down the line that gets you noticed. Just keep at it, post about and people will come looking, in the meantime do what you enjoy doing.

Well actually i am using Blender and i am trying to understand and ''copycat'' the style i saw recently in the last ED updates.
I hope to do something nice but don't expect too much, it's only a fun, i don't mean to do it too much seriously.

if you compare it to the anaconda model this is much longer and bigger.. more details are yet to come ofc.

is nothing about the original.. i started from a concept: fer de lance is a snake.
so i thought about to replicate the body design of a snake, long central part with a typical snake head... but actually i am goin to think about the two little wings, are good or not ?

the colors are only a temporary mix to define the parts.

i think that the main design is done, i will continue with the little details now..

It does look a bit like an oil tanker in that last render... which isnt necessarily a bad thing.

Throw in some textures, a light source and a backdrop and lets see how she fares.

Nice ship, pity you picked the name Fer-de-lance though :p. I'm being Mr Pedantic-Pants again; fer-de-lance means spearhead, and the snake was so-called because of the shape of it's head

ohhhhhhhh just a snake head, not the body.

I can see that clearly now in that pic posted by tricky. However, the ship is aligned in the opposite direction with the long slender section being the rear of the ship. Think it looks better that way.
