Personal merits per control point

Just a quick question.

How many personal merits are required per control point? I’m assuming this has been worked out by the experienced power players by now?


….obviously I’m not one of them!

From what has been posted, according to my memory, 4 merits per CP.

This seems to have been born out in my play.

I’ll try and track mine but I’m in a busy system and the control point total changes radically and seemingly sporadically.

Yeah what Steve said, with the addition that somewhere I read something to the effect that 1/4 of most merits earned = control points gained but there "may be" some earned merits that are not 4:1.

Yes. The conversion factors we've been told or been able to deduce are:
- exploration data: 6 merits per control point
- weekly tasks: personal merits only, do not give control points
- rares trading, escape pods: "temporarily" 0 merits and 0 control points, but can complete weekly tasks
- everything else (which is almost everything): 4 merits per control point

Oh and afaik the weekly assignment merits do not convert to control points at all, only the merits earned for the actual work done to complete the assignment will convert to control points.

In case that is ambiguous:

If you have an assignment to scan 10 megaships with a merit bonus of 3600 merits, each scan is worth (rounding here) 1000 merits which yields 250 control points.

Scanning the 10 megaships earns 10,000 merits total and yields 2500 control points spread across the systems where the megaships are in 250 system control point increments.

The 3600 bonus merits for completing the assignment do not convert to system control points.
