These ideas are purely my opinion/wants, though go ahead and suggest your own ideas.
A dedicated Large Exploration Ship (I know the Anaconda technically fills that role, but as I've seen someone state instead of trying to make a ship outjump the 'conda, it'd be better to nerf. A new large ship to make up that lost ship potential would be nice. I'm hoping for additional mobility on this one too.)
Something even bigger than the type-9 (Ever since seeing the type 8 I've honestly wanted a barely fitting cargo hauler, I know it'd just destroy the whole economic balance but I feel that'd be the fun in a ship like this. Maybe give it potential as a support ship if built for those healing lasers and maneuverability.)
An alternative to the fleet carrier (maybe a squadron carrier, to really bring home the point of being in a squadron and the teamwork one could do. The ability to fully kit out the ship and maybe have a way to have pilots donate or just outright tax them for a variety of benefits would be nice. Plus this would allow for certain squadrons to mark systems as their "home" system. I believe depending on the squadron it can be made into a vote, a choice of a specific person, or it can just follow and stay around where a majority of the players are automatically.)
SRVs (Why not.)
A dedicated science SRV so I can do xeno-biology without the annoyances, having an SRV can really help but it sucks needing to get out sometimes. Would it not be neat to have one of those like robotic arms IRL rovers have to take samples? It'd fit the dedicated exploration role, probably keep it without weapons as a balancing measure I guess. Why not give it the largest cargo hold too?
A full on actual tank would be nice, I'd be fine if it requires something the size of a fighter bay to deploy but I just find it odd that Core Dynamics wouldn't take the opportunity to support the federation on the ground. The federation could have a much more strafing playstyle with the ability to move side to side (and both of these could require rank for the FDEV that wants to utilize that system. Also please make an option to have the turret control with direct mouse inputs or at least have the cursor show so you know what direction you're aiming towards like the ship)
Suits (I think some extra variety would be nice)
A dedicated stealth suit, so you don't have to use the maverick. Shields on par with the exploration suit but it atomically makes your steps quieter, alongside in built night vision. This suit could come along with some weaker, but silenced weaponry (sold separately) and it'd have an actual, kinetic sniper rifle, a "service pistol" that could act as a kinetic, slow firing but high damage alternative. I personally believe that more weapons like this would allow more gameplay feel, even if you could technically do the same with something else. Yes, the sniper rifle would be hitscan, but I'd be fine with it just doing next to no damage to shields so people would at least need to use a laser pistol of some kind alongside it. Oh, almost forgot the unique tool!
The unique tool that comes to mind is at least a jammer capable of preventing someone from calling backup at the cost of energy, or capable of EMPing certain settlement structures like turrets and alarms. Or just outright a way to get through security scanners without needing to kill someone.
That has been my new equipment/ship wishlist. Thank you for reading.
