Pertinent faction information is hidden at almost every step of the new UI

The BGS has been subjected to a new layer of obfuscation - foot missions aren't showing you the target faction either for hostile or friendly actions, no information in the UI as to the allegiance of ground bases without exiting the mission board and clicking through several stages of the system map.

Even if you don't care about the BGS, it'd still be prudent to know who you're about to attack as bounties affect your ability to dock thereafter. It would also be nice to know what industry a settlement is.

It's a great shame - I have taken to screencapping or writing down the allegiance of every system I'm working in to ensure that I'm helping / hindering the factions I want to help / hinder. It's laborious and would be so much better if the information were presented logically at the mission acceptance stage as it was in Horizons.

I was going to post about the same thing, and I'm glad someone brought it up.

I've been doing courier missions for INF, and when I get to the destination and see courier missions back to my home system again, there's no indication who they're to be handed in to at the other end.

I'm considering just taking the lot and throwing away the ones which are for the faction I'm working to undermine.

ETA: kind of surprised FDev didn't have a UI person go through the same screens on Horizons and Odyssey side by side, asking themselves 'what have we missed?'

I've had the same issue. I'd like to keep my Alioth Independents status as Allied so deliberately took a mission supplied by Alioth Independents. Completed the mission with unfortunate "collateral damage" and gained a bounty.... FROM Alioth Independents! Turns out they'd order a hit on their own faction. The problem is I'd already double checked with the Galaxy/System map to work out who owned the base and it wasn't Alioth Independents. INARA normally acts as a good double check, but again it doesn't have information on a lot of the new settlements. At the moment it's just pot luck when accepting missions if you care about the target.

This could all easily be "quickly" fixed by showing the target faction on such missions. It's already shown for combat missions so the system does have that information.

I didn't find a newer thread for this (please point me that way if there is) so I'm adding my voice to this. I am trying to stay on the good side of Federation factions, and I find a lot of Odyssey missions are Federation faction A wants to do some illegal stuff to Federation faction B... but unless I manually search faction B's information on Google for example, I cannot know that faction B is a Federation faction. It takes so much time to find missions where I'm not fighting a faction I want to be friendly with. It makes the game really frustrating sometimes.

This part irritates me to no end. I'll only attack anarchy factions, but it takes some time to figure out which are anarchy. By the time I look into it, the missions change.

I'll eventually change the way I approach the mission board. That's the only option, as there is little chance this will be changed.
