Petition to rename Lave Station to "Hoff Hub"

I approve of this request, but only on the condition that the back-and-forth cylon-y red light make an appearance somewhere conspicuous on the station.

If there ever was a Hoff station, it better be playing some corny 80's hit of his over the PA :p

That goes without saying. You don't get much cornier than this.

The more I think about it the more I think this makes perfect logical sense. Lave is the first station we all started playing. It brings back memories. Memories of what time? The 1980s. If a lot of David Hasselhoff material were around it would have great nostalgia value.

Given this fact, could we also rename the station at Leesti to "A-Team Terminal"?

Just how did that guy manage to kill his career? Refused to support the Illuminati? Refused to hand out pictures with one eye covered? Did he find their various hand signs too hard to perform?

I would like to know if there is an Arthur c Clarke station as he was a true legend in sci fi. Also science fact if I recall as he had some influence on a satellite. I'm sure someone can enlighten me on the facts.

Ooh! Ooh! And once Hoff Hub is online, it can start trading the rare "Hasselhoff Hamburger," with the description, "this is the best."

I believe this move is long overdue and will find community-wide consensus. Quite a few stations in the Elite universe are named after various artists who have contributed to sci-fi or fantasy, but tragically David Hasselhoff has been somehow overlooked.

David Hasselhoff, an 80s icon... no, legend... will, I'm sure, bring back fond memories amongst many of you who will fondly remember a crime fighting duo of enormously haired man and a car that talked. A car which had the primary function of "the preservation of human life", but never told anyone inside it to fasten their seat belt. But these are not the only things The Hoff did.

This is a man who faced an android with a lightsaber long before Ewan Mcgregor was out of short pants.

And a man who played a beach side lifeguard who spent his evenings fighting werewolves, vampires, and even aliens in a show that the creators of the X-Files retroactively ripped off several years earlier.

Now we come to the more radical part of my idea, because this isn't just about a simple station name change. Mr Hasselhoffs creative contribution to the culture of science fiction is unquestionable. But incredibly, this mans talents stretch to music as well as acting and producing movies and shows. Thus he has crafted numerous works of art in the form of song which, if FDev obtain the rights to use in the game, could be played over the tannoy in Hoff Hub, or even used as custom docking music for the station (whether or not someone uses the docking computer, simply play the music as soon as docking permission is requested).

Another positive consequence of this would be to drive many of the anti-social types who frequent Lave out of the system!

Fuzzyspider.. shame on you.. .why would you torture everyone like this :p

So which station will bear Mr. T's mighty name? He's an even bigger 1980s icon than the Hoff. Hoff never had his own cartoon or breakfast cereal.

Whichever station becomes Mr. T Orbital better have gold and lots of it.
