Petition to rename Limpets.

The name Limpets came about as a naval mine which utilize magnets to attach ordinance to ship hulls and they are named after rock clinging gastropods. :eek:Every time I read Limpet I cannot help but think of Bear Grylls 'The Island'. There are a good many other names we could use for the remote drone automated specialized robotic apparatus that would conjure up a different mental image than a handful of starving folk peeling snails from rocks for nutrition.
When I read Limpet I think; Fuel Snail? Mining Snail? Cargo Snail?
I understand they are so named because of their function, but the name Limpet isn't a space, tech, sci-fi, galactic or any other form of related material type name. Its a snail.
I would really like to hear what you think may be a better name for these technical contrivances, and maybe ask for them to be changed at some point because ITS TOTALLY BREAKING MY IMMERSION. Not really, but I thought this would be fun.
If they weren't called Limpets what would you call them?

Rename it to: Patellogastropoda

A limpet is an aquatic snail with a shell that is broadly conical in shape. "Limpet" informally refers to any gastropod whose shell has no obvious coiling, like the coiling which can be seen in the shells of garden snails or winkles.

The Prospectors latch on to the asteroids as well.

Besides our ships are named after Animals, so why not the drones
I like Limpets as the name

The name does suggest something that latches on

This.... I remember this... Almost remember.... As a person with 0 experience in English naval slang, this is the definition I read when I was wondering what limpets could possibly be. (first day of elite, found some floating)

I was like ... OOOOOKKKK.... that was helpful by.... exactly none percent :) I figured it must be something they produce on agri / water worlds.... :D

To answer the question, "drone" would be fine by me. May be unimaginative, but fine.

...and then there would be two items to stock up on depending on what you're using: drones or limpets.
