Pew Pew overheating

I was awol for a month. I have a corvette for fighting. Before I was away, I had a small rise in heat ( up to 60 or 70 percent ) when firing.
I returned on second of August and found that when I fire weapons the heat percent goes up to 800% before I need to log out of game.

I have 4 multi cannon, 2 beam lasers.
Today, I killed a single ship. The heat rose to 600% and I stopped the shooting. The heat continued to rise to 800% while I was stationary with no actions.

Has something changed over the last month, or is this a bug?

Did you accidentally hit cool running? Or your shield cell banks.
No. I tried shield cell bank later, before my shields were gone, but they didn't work.
Today, I took out the Python2 and fired the guns for a while, and a similar thing happened. When it reached 100 I stopped, and the heat dropped back instead of increasing.
Cool running is out of bump range.
One thing I noticed, beam lasers alone don't heat up. Cannons alone don't heat up.
But both together is a barbecue.
Have you encounted this before?

Were there any changes to your graphical settings, did you install a new driver etc.? Is your framerate unlimited or capped at any certain value and if so how much?

AFAIR there was a strange engine behaviour (a.k.a. bug?) a while back where the heat generation of the ship was tied to the client's framerate. This was being observed when using the (at the time new) SCO drives. Unlimited framerate was causing hilarious levels of heat. Also historically it has happened that previously solved bugs were reintroduces with new updates.

PS: just checking now, I see my framerate is also uncapped. I always cap my framerate. Or at least I remember having set it to a fixed valu... When did this change and how....?

It would be great to capture video of that if it happens again - this should never happen unless you're in silent running. (Not sure it's even possible to engineer a ship which heats up indefinitely without firing weapons, but since you haven't changed your ship, that clearly can't be the cause.)
Fancy sharing an EDSY link to your build?
