Okay, so, I've been trying to figure this one out for a while since it comes up in wing assassinations and CZ spec ops, and to a lesser extent I guess it's a thing I might encounter in PvP at some point even if I don't actively seek it out.
When a phasing sequence weapon strikes a shield, resistances and sys pips obviously reduce the amount of damage dealt to the shield. When it comes to the amount of bleed-through damage to the hull, is that damage calculation based upon the shield's resistances, or is it calculated against the hull?
In other words, if I'm running shieldtanks and only ever expect to take hull damage from phasing sequence weapons, would I be better off running mirror surface composite instead of aiming for balanced resistances?
Likewise, if I'm planning on using phasing sequence myself, do I need to worry about the hull hardness/resistance of my opponents - will a cytoscrambler with phasing sequence cause obscene hull damage as long as it's hitting a shielded opponent? (ie. huge damage to shields = lots of bleedthrough that bypasses hull resistance/hardness as it's already gone through the shield resistance/pips)
I guess this applies to a lesser extent to thargoid weapons, I've only ever built for raw HP against them but if mirror composite provides better benefits against their weapons then I'll switch up to using that.
