Phone And Tablet Games You Like

Ever since my cell phone disaster, I have been exploring apps that need installing, and weeding out the ones not needed.

One of the things I discovered is that many games that used to be PC-only, are now available as apps.

It's certainly a great venue for boardgames.

The result is that several of the games that I purchased previously for PC have now migrated to my phone. With ample SD card storage, this is now possible.

Full PC's are expensive. Top rated consoles cost money too. I have found, to my dismay, that I am trapped into owning a cell phone (Brit: mobile).

I have decided to make the best of it.

I have found boardgames like Ticket To Ride, and Splendor at the app store. Which games do you find that are the best fit for portable devices?

For me, on Android...

1) XCOM Enemy Within (huge game!)

2) Carmageddon

3) GTA (most of the oldies are available)

4) PUBG

5) Any Old Sonic Game. Lol

6) OpenTTD (Transport Tycoon Deluxe) - awkward on a small screen

7) OpenXcom (if it works...lol) - can be very awkward in mobile

8) Worms 3

:)

What's openxCom?

I love GTA, but can't play it on touchscreen. Also, normally I play on the phone in very short session, because I have little incentive to play on the phone when I actually have the time to do so: at home. This means complex/really immersive games are out of the equation.

For short sessions Hill Climb Racing 2 is excellent, easy controls yet hard to master, fun content. Since I have my PC mothballed as we are doing a home upgrade (5 weeks gone, one more to go!), I also downloaded World of Warships - excellent game, really good PVP battles.
For the fun and memories,I also have Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. :)

Mh, my games on the phone are limited to games that I can play in quick sessions during subway rides. Preferably with a single hand. But those were my favorites so far:

Knights of Pen & Paper
Turn based RPG light with a bit of humor. There is a second one by now, but I played the first.

Super Mario Run
Really good mashup of Mario movement and a runner type game, but with well designed, finite levels.

Completely addicted to Asphalt 8 on iPad. Also like Osmos HD, Monument Valley (and sequels), The Room and Bridge Constructor Portal.

Skyforce reloaded (one of the best scrolling shooters I've found, probably the best graphics wise), or Gladiabots in those rare few occasions I remember I actually have a brain.

Chess and poker.

There are many IOS titles that have not ported over, like the classic old PC Warlords. Kingsburg used to be available for IOS, but has vanished. Medici, and Puerto Rico are still on IOS only.

Apple is still usually the first to get a game conversion, then Android.

I have found a free PC version of Warlords, but am still playing it on my IPad.

This is what I am currently using during long breaks from hyperspace travel in Elite. The IOS version has nine maps.

Too many. I'll just screenshot the best ones
